Talk to FH the day of the wedding??? Obviously FH and I will be separated, he in the hotel with his GMs and his family and me at my Mom's house with my BMs and my family! I was planning on calling him/texting him the morning of the wedding to say good morning and I love him and that I cannot wait to be his wife. But my FH, my sister (MOH) and my friend (BM) says that I am not allowed to talk to him before the wedding at all?!??! Is that true?!?!? That kind of makes me sad lol! Let me know your thoughts and or what your impression of the tradition is? Thanks!

Re: Are we really not allowed to....
I thought you were just not supposed to see him, but I didn't know talking was off limits. I will probably want to talk to FH the morning of just to calm my nerves and tell him how excited I am!!!

I never heeard of that. I did not see my DH the day of. But we did talk on the phone twice. We both wanted to say a few words to eachother. It was very sweet and he actually help keep me calm. I would say yes to talking.

Not talk to him??? That is silly. I think some people like to uphold traditions and not see eachother, but not talking seems kind of over the top. If anything, I'd want to call and make sure he was still on schedule and not distracted by the TV or something.
I think it is perfectly fine for you to call him. I think I would be a wreck if I didn't get to talk to him all day.

I've never heard of that before, the only thing is that you shouldnt see each other. I know so many brides that spoke to their FHs the morning of to make sure everything was going smoothly.
I plan on talking to FH the morning of.

Ive never heard that before
As for myself, I think we're gonna be staying at the apt the night before so... we'll be talking and seeing one another bright & early anyways... No need to spend $$ on a hotel when its not necessary, but thats just us

Re: Are we really not allowed to....
its weird but i heard some ppl say the same thing. BUt its just about not seeing him.
I spoke to DH about 4x the morning of the wedding. He called asking me what time videographer was coming, then he asked me other questions regarding the wedding. I had to call him to let him know the bouts were being delivered to the church so they would be there waiting for all the guys and DOC will help them with it. Mostly stuff like that.

I totally think it's ok to talk, I think it makes it more fun, and gives you the opportunity talk before all the crazyness goes on, I say go for it!

I've never heard of this. But what about all the girls that are taking pics before the ceremony with FH.
Is that bad luck? I think I'm doing this.

DH and I stayed home the night before the wedding, because we were too cheap to get rooms. We took pics beforehand. We're still married.

Re: Are we really not allowed to....
Its true for the very religious Jews. My Rabbi asked that we not speak so we didnt. It wasnt that bad, I was very busy with everything and he was too.
