I do this also. I practice signing my new last name all over my'official' county binders at work.

I am, yes, definitely old school..

FH is changing his last name to his mother's last name (in her honor, she passed away last yr).. His father passed over 15 yrs ago too :(

His last name now always gets made fun of because if you miss the accent people will just say 'bob' or 'booby' sooo I'm kinda glad he's changing it... He will be ending that side of his name (since he's an only child) but his mother's name would also end if he didn't take it...

I have already perfected my signature.

I am not. I like my last name and it has a nice ring to it with my name. I also want to keep my last name alive as I am an only child....

Call me weird, but I feel like giving up my last name, I lose a little part of my identity.
