Are you and FH exchanging gifts this holiday?

I asked FH if he wanted to exchange gifts this year...to which he said 'Sure, why not?' I want to keep it budgeted though. Are you guys doing the same?

yep we are... we agreed that the house we are about to close on is our christmas gift to eachother this year

if we werent buying a house we probably would exchange gifts but it would be something small.

we arent exchanging this year, we figured the money can go towards the wedding.

plus his bday is 2 weeks before xmas so i get him big bday gifts

i remember when you said this last time... and it still makes me laugh that hes getting you something you dont want! lol

We're each getting each other a kitten b/c we want a pet!!!

Other than that, we're not doing ANY gifts really, just parents.

I keep telling FH that all I want for Christmas this year is my wedding band. And he keeps laughing at me I bought him something small so far, and I *might* buy him the Ipod Touch that he wants. Mainly because his wedding band is going to be WAY cheaper than mine

We exchanged last year, but we gave ourselves parameters. We got each other a book that either we really wanted the other one to read, or that was meaningful to us in some way. We are big readers though. Maybe you could do something like that?

Last year, my girlfriends and I did a letter exchange. Basically, we all wrote letters to each other that said:

1--what i love about you
2--what i am grateful for about you/a great moment we've had
3--what i hope for you in the new year.

We then had a big brunch thing and shared them. It was a lot of fun, and was a great bonding experience!

Although I think we shouldnt exchange gifts, its going to make us depressed to not exchange ANYTHING on christmas...its once a year!!

we are going to do small gifts... def no more than 50 dollars pp.... although I really want an ipod dock!!!

Nope, but his birthday is right around the holidays and mine was the last week of October...it's not that bad!

Nopers, not this year we are going to do each other stockings and friends of our are getting married in Vegas next year, they are going to vegas to plan and sooo since they are going for New Years we are joining them for New Years and planning in Vegas!!!!!
So really that is our gift to each other!

yes! we set a $300 limit, and my FHs birthday is the week before christmas.

I didn't want to exchange gifts at all. I told DH that and he laughed at me. Then I said 'well let's stuff each other's stockings. I don't want a gift.' He said 'ok, we'll do that and I'll get you a big present too.' He thinks it's a trick, I really just don't see the need. He's putting up new vinyl siding this week, and kitchen renovations in December, what more do I need?

I am not giving him a gift! His b-day just passed and i got him a new cell phone which ran me over $200. So that will have to suffice for now!

Yes, we're exchanging gifts but put it at like $150 to spend. We usually go over the top but we're keeping it small and our anniversary is the next day but we're just getting each other cards for that.
