Are you and FH exchanging gifts this year for the holidays?

I was thinking of telling him that since the wedding is coming up that we should either set a price range we cannot go over or skip presents all together. We already have to buy for his whole family and mine, so I'm trying to think of how to save as much as we can.

Have you girls discussed this with your FH's?

We will probably still exchange but set a fairly low limit so we don't go over board.. Unfortunately, FH had to go and be born four days before Christmas so I have to buy him a birthday present as well!!! The nerve of him!

I don't think we're doing gifts this year. We decided to leave it for the kids only. Our son and his niece and my niece. THAT'S IT. Even my mom said no gifts b/c she wants to concentrate on things for the wedding. We'll make up for it after the wedding

I really dont want anything and neither does he so id rather not exchange this year. We do stnicholas day where we fill eachothers stockings with silly things and gold coins so that will be enough

We're probably just going to find something that we both want or need and buy it together. We did this last year and it worked out nice.

we were gonna spend about 100 dollars on each other this year....we got alot of saving to do!

We decided that we are gonna do a joint gift for the house that both of us want since we have our kids to get and all the kids on mine and his side also.

We are too broke for christmas this year.. we are getting eachother our wedding bands...There is always next year!!

We have already said we aren't. We might do stocking stuffers and that's it. However, for the last 2 Christmas' we have set a budget and FH completely ignores it and goes way over, so who knows.

I think we are going to take a trip into the city, see a show, have dinner, and get our wedding bands. That will be our gift to each other.

i spoke to FMIL and told her ... instead of going crazy this year and buying a million things ... JUST GIVE US THE MONEY haha we can really use it! i dont need another sweater, or watch, or anything! just show me the money!

and as for cousins, which FH usually does (hes nuts i know) ... we got rid of that this year! no way ... not happening!!!

as for me and FH ... we will set a limit ... or at least i will set a limit and im sure he will go over it like he does every year! hes a spending nut! maybe ill push to get our rings (good idea) instead of gifts.

we are but were gonna oly get eachother like one or two gifts and set a limit, and this year we are actually gonna stick to it!!!

Ugh I really want to tell FMIL this, but I've tried before, and she refuses to give people money. She thinks it's impersonal and tacky. She gives nice gifts but this year I could really use the money!

It will probably be a very small gift, due to the wedding. Yesterday was my B-Day and FH B-day will be Monday and we are not exchanging B-day gifts b/c our RH and flower payment is due this month.

We're just doing one small gift. We just talked about saving what we were going to spend for our wedding gifts since it's only a few months after!

We didn't talk about it yet, but I'm going to suggest that maybe we should do combined gifts this year for each others families. Previously, I bought for his entire extended family, he bought for mine...this year I'm going to see if maybe we can pretend like we're already married and just get one gift with both our names on it. Distributing it will be an issue though, because I think my family will have a big problem with me skipping out on my last Christmas at home to split the time between two families. Ugh.
