Are you Attending your Cockail Hour??

Just wondering.. we may be able to make it to our cocktail hour if we skip having a recieving line and shake a leg while taking photos.. part of me feeels like skipping the CH and entering the reception hall for the first time will be special and part of me feels like i would rather enjoy CH first even if when we enter the recreption hall we will have already seen everyone..

what are your thoughts?

I am doing pics before ceremony to have my make up fresh etc and attend my CH.
I want to enjoy what we paid for.
I want FH's reaction to me to be private...I think it will make better pics...
that's just me.

I would love to attend my CH but we need to use that time to take pictures. We'll just have to make a list of all the appetizers we want while we wait to make our entrance.

We are definately attending our cocktail hour - we don't want to miss it, so we're taking all our pics before the ceremony and greeting everyone at the receiving line - then it's all fun and games!

I didn't want to go to my CH. I wanted to find a RH where there was a large enough Bridal Suite so I could have a little party with the BP and close fam members. I call it the calm before the storm. Ha ha ha. I just thought it would be a nice time to hang out and take a break from the ceremony and pictures. We can eat a lil and drink a lot together.. then start the real party. I think I was just looking for that level of intimacy with my closest people.

Fh already warned me that he is going to walk out of pictures if he has to but he is going to the cocktail hour...so I guess we're going!

We went and we were so happy we did. We got to see some of our guests and some of the stations (although not all-ppl kept coming up to us to say congrats!!) You are paying for it so why not?

We did! Missed the first 20 minutes though taking pictures... wish I could have been at the whole thing!!!

I don't plan on attending our CH. We plan on having a grand entrance into the reception.

We are getting married the day before in indian attire. Fore the reception I'm wearing a wedding dress and want to have that wow factor when we walk in.

It's different because most of you girls have your ceremony the same day and the guests have already seen you in your gown at the church.

i wanted to respond to a few girls but couldnt quote more than one person at one time....

1st - it wont be your only alone time with DH.... you will most likely have the whole BP hanging out with you during your 'private' CH, no?? your best bet for 'alone' time is in the rolls or limo on the way from the ceremony to the RH with just you and DH... you will NEVER have a another long period of time to be alone together again until the end of the reception

2nd - it def does NOT take away from the 'grand entrance' i'd say the 'grand entrance' is blown when everyone sees you walk down the aisle.... when that music is pumping and the DJ/band announces you as mr and mrs _______ you are going to be SOOOOOO pumped and everyone is going to cheer for you guys!!!

im a HUGE advocate for ppl going to their CH - otherwise you spend like 95% of your reception walking around to each table and let me tell you, thats NOT fun!!!

I didn't make it in time; but it will help if you how up to say hello to guest, this way you don't take up time going around during your reception time. I think you really should drop by like for 30 minutes to walk around say hello and enjoy the rest of your evening.

We are definitely going to be in CH. This way when the dancefloor's open we won't spend the whole night walking around to each table.

Nope I'm looking forward to making my grand entrance besides... Fh and I are already making plans for making our own cocktail at our bridal suite and I'm going to enjoy my whole hour with the lock on the door

we are going to ours! our church is at 3 and the CH doesn't start till 7 so we have plenty of time to take pics before hand.
