Are you changing your name?

Hey Ladies,

FH really wants me to take his last name, but I really love mine! What are you all doing? Changing? Hyphenating? Keeping? I'd love to know!

Yes... my name is weird and no one can ever say it correctly! I'm very excited to finally have a normal last name, Miller!

Plus, me and FH will almost have the same name... with the exception of 2 letters!

I'm most likely going to hyphenate - even though FH is not really happy with that decision. Not to sound like a childish b!tch, but I HATE fh's last name - and I love mine. Plus I hate the idea of completely getting rid of such a huge part of my identity.

couldn't imagine not having my hubby's name!!!!!! I have a friend who actually changed her middle name to her maiden name....just an interesting idea....

I am definitely NOT changing my name. Even when I was little, I thought I would just hyphenate it because my last name is super cool...but I'm just keeping it like it is, FH is keeping his, and we'll hyphenate for the kids.

I understand. My FH has a great name, but it just doesn't feel right to change mine. It's just not ME. You would not believe how many people have strong opinions on this. Strangers on the street tell me I'm the downfall of civilization! It's crazy. However all this fuss makes me what to change it even less! My FH would like me to change my name but he's OK with whatever I do.


Interesting. I get the opposite. EVERYONE I've told that I'm changing my name (with the exception of family) has told me not to do it. Everyone I work with tells me I'm crazy. I tell them it's MY decision.

I used to be so anxious to get rid of my last name, but now not so much. Im not crazy about FH's last name, but I am changing to it

It's not childish or bitchy at all! You have had you last name as a part of you since the day you were born. I feel the same way about my last name..

I LOVE my last name but it will be changed from kelly to mumper... I always sing, ' hey mr. mumper, why you always bumpin her?'

my initials will now change from KKK to KKM

that doesnt' sound so good....


lol well he's not my husband just yet. He said if I don't take his last name then we can't raise the kids with my religion. It seemed like a fair deal although my kids will be the only ones in their hebrew school with a last name that begins with O'

I love it.

I am changing it. It would sound terrible if I hyphenated Jessamyn Ramos-DePaola. Yuck!

I would never in a million years change my name! And it has nothing to do with anything other than he wouldn't change his either!

I have always said Iwas going to change my name so I am. This was also a big thing to DH-he felt that was the way it should be

I have a long hard to pronounce last name and always said I was going to marry someone with a short last name - lol - not so much - but as FH likes to say I will move up in the alphabet :)

I'm definitely changing to FH's last name. My last name now is easy to make fun of, and I'm tired of hearing the same joke over and over again. Can't wait to change. We're both Irish, so it's not too hard of a transition because I'm keeping my heritage
