I normally hate getting tips (creates difficulty putting contacts in!).
I was thinking I should get tips for the wedding since it would be prettier in pictures.
Are you getting tips?
Do you normally wear tips or just for the wedding?

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I personally dislike them.... they LOOK fake... no matter what...
I'm just trying to keep my nails well-shaped and a nice medium length until the big day... and then maybe putting a bit of blush colored polish on... that's it!

no I am letting my own nails grow, but mine grow very long.
Maybe try getting weekly manicures and letting them grow and taking care of them.
Or maybe get silk wrapping or something similar.
But go with what you like best actually

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I have ugly horrible nails, when I got engaged I put tips on but kept them very short-and very natural looking-so i had them on through the honeymoon-and on the last day of the honeymoon I literally started biting them off- they are not my favorite, but my nails are short-I bite them-they look horrible and in pics the 'fake' nails look so much better

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I'm in sales so I always have to have my nails done and I love the way my left hand looks with a fresh manicure and my e-ring, however, I getting a fresh set put on the day or 2 before the wedding. I can grow my real nails, but they evenutally break... this way they are always even. While to some it may look unnatural, I think they are always clean looking. All nail polish is unnatural, but it is totally personal taste. If you hate something don't do it, you have to be comfortable in your own skin.

I have pretty decent nails, but the horses take a major toll on them.
I keep silk wraps on to keep them looking nice. I've never had acrylic, so I can't speak to those. It's annoying having to sit longer in the nail salon, but I like the end result.
I do not keep the silk wrapped nails very long at all - I have them cut each week. It's just the only way I can keep my nails nice and professional-looking for work while doing so much outside and with the horses.
I usually get frustrated and have them soaked off at least once a year. Then I go back.

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I put tips on right before my engagement party. I am really not into fake nails but my real nails are paper thin. I felt bad to be wearing this beautiful ring and no nails. So yes, I will have fake nails for my wedding.

When I was younger I used to get fake nails put on all the time and now my nails are kinda dented in some spots bec of this. I havent had fake nails in forever, lol. I am going to try to let them grow, its just that they break so easily and I dont want stubby nails on my wedding day so I will prob get fake ones

I have been taking biotin everyday so I'm hoping to have real nails, but if any break, I'm gonna have to suck it up and get short fake tips. I want the shot of pretty nails. They were gorgeous for my engagment (dumbluck!) So I am hoping they will be fabulous for the wedding, but naturally fabulous!

keep nail polish on them all the time, this will help from the breaking...also the moment you get a hangnail get a cuticle cutter and cut it, or any little crack take care of it right away. My nails break alot too but i know have to be extra careful and always keep polish on them.

AND also wanted to say that real nails can also look nice in pictures. Heres a pic of my hand with real nails
Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
i've never had fake nails before but I want to get them for my wedding because my nails are so brittle and never grow long. Are tips different from acrylics? I'm nervous about getting acrylics because I've heard that they're are very difficult and painful to remove. But I also don't want to get press-on nails because I think they look very fake.

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I'm trying to let my nails grow and start preping them for the wedding but if they're not long enough and strong enough, I will use fake nails.

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
i had already had my nails wrapped so i just got a fill on my big day.
i dont suggest getting fake nails if u are not used to them- you will be clumsy with them ..
why not try and grow your nails a month or so before and just get a pretty manicure?

Re: Are you getting fake nails on your wedding day?
I will be getting tips done but I am having them cut down to a very natural length. I ususally use press ons-Broadway nails in the short length and love them-they last about 5 days before they start getting crappy and then you can take em off and let your nails breathe. I want to ensure they stay on during the big day so I will have them professionally done, but cutting them down to that length.
