Are you girls washing your hair on your wedding day??

This might be a strange question, but everywhere I read, it says don't wash your hair the day of your wedding b/c it will hold better, style better, etc. But the woman who is doing my hair on the day of said I can wash it and it's not a problem. Not sure, but what are you girls doing?? What have your stylists told you?? Thanks

I can't function when I dont wash my hair!!! i feel dirty and I get cranky... I dont want to do that to myself on my wedding day!. I will wash it. i have very easy hair to work with so i never have any issues!

Well my hair is naturally curly, close to telephone wire curly,, I blow it out, & honestly becuase its so freakin thick, I dont wash it everyday. if I did , my hair would take a beatin.. So I will blow it out straight the night b4 that way she can do her magic better,, Fresh hair is always harder to style,,

They say if you having an updo u should wash your hair the day before....(that is what I have heard/read) I went to a wedding this saturday and my MOH/hairstylist did an updo and I washed my hair saturday morning and was fine!

No, the girl who did my hair for my wedding told me to wash it the night before. I was told the same thing when I got my hair done for a friends wedding.

no. when i did my trial i didn't wash it, and it was easier for her to work with. i'll wash it the day before, but not the day of.

Yah, I washed it. My hair stayed great all night. I was told it would be better if I didn't. But I love the smell and feel of freshly shampooed hair. I was not willing to go without that feeling on my wedding day. I have very long hair. I had a semi-updo. It was pulled up from underneath, but all my hair was hanging in curls in the back.

I cannot function if my hair isn't clean because I feel so oily and gross. So, I'm going to have to wash it the day of, even though I know you aren't supposed to.

Me too! I don't want to straighten it for two hours at 4am!

I have curly hair and before I get an updo I always straighten it the day or night before. In my past experiences, the style holds better when I washed it the day before versus that day.

I washed my hair the night before so it would hold better the day of being my hair is VERY fine.

I'm washing mine, and actually washed it an hour before my hair trial and didn't have a problem with it staying up.
When I was in high school I had proms two nights in a row. My hairdresser told me not to wash my hair, and I basically told her there was no way I could do without it since I'd have helmet head from the night before. She just had me come in early to sit in rollers...She said that they just need your hair to have 'bend' and that putting the rollers in is just as good as having dirty hair...Might be an option for those that are like me and are OCD about hair-washing.

I am washing mine the day before as well... have it straighted for the rd and then the next morning at 8 is my app for the wedding..
