ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE HIS NAME, HYPHENATE, or KEEP YOURS?
I saw this topic on the knot and it is actually very interesting:
'So I am curious about what you girls all think about the tradition of the bride changing her last name after exchanging vows? What you are deciding to do....are you keeping your maiden name, hyphenating, taking on your FI's last name, or other?'

I mean, I love my name. I'm irish Catholic, he's Jewish and we both have VERY different sounding last names!!! (His name ends in -itz, mine is a traditional Irish name!) But even though I'll miss my last name, I'm excited about taking his.

LOL... After long deliberation, I have decided to take his name I will soon be known as Rebecca 'Hurlbert', now that's love....
We once thought about combining our names into one new one combining 'Kleidon' with 'Hurbert', we came up with: 'Hurldon' And I don't have patience and am too sarcastic for long hyphenated names

HIS NAME!!! and I can't wait...People have always had problems pronouncing my last name, and now i wont have to deal with it lol

I love my last name. There's so much history to it. I thought about hyphenating it and although fh told me it'll be ok, I know he really wants me to take his name. I'll probably end up taking his name.

I'm taking his... I'll always be my last name at heart, I don't need to see it on paper or hear people say it. I'm not a doctor or a teacher so the transition should be fairly easy for me...

my last name will be used as my middle name. I'll use his last name while still keeping mine.

I'm taking his - he is the only man in his family to keep the name going so its us or no one.

I am on the fence about this! I LOOOVE my last name and because my parents are deceased it means alot to me to keep the name of my parents. I am also a teacher so that is another difficluty. I am thinking about hypenating it or doing what Shell is doing and making my last name my middle name.
Which would sound better?
My FI's last name is irish and my BM's already had these lucky charms jokes lol.
