I am trying to convince my FH that a DOC is a great idea. Are you having one? Why? Why not? What's the general price range? Thanks!

i feel like we should set up a network and just be each other's DOC, like a barter system!
I am totally down with this kidding aside, I think that's actually a great idea!
I would be up for doing this with girls on here. You wouldn't even need someone to necessarily stay the whole time, it's more making sure everything is set up consistent with your vision - tables set the right way, favors out, etc. We should think about this!
ITA need to start a thread or a poll to see how to work this thing out logistically and if there is actual interest in doing this. u got my vote anyway

at work, and this computer doesn't let me start threads, only reply (odd). will try to do tonight if someone doesn't do first.

Re: Are you having a DOC?
everyone books different things for their weddings for different reasons. I just would be careful about the 'waste of money' thing as a lot of brides may be offended. I can see why brides would hire one but I am confident the day of that I will have things go smoothly, and I will have my sister/mother/aunts/cousins to help out if needed so I will not be hiring a DOC.

I am having one. I plan on doing all the planning on my own. I wanted one because I just want to enjoy the day without having to call any vendors if they are running late, lost etc.
I booked with Cynthia Ross of Cynthia Ross affairs. She is $450 for the day. She also has partial DOC services.

Re: Are you having a DOC?
I'm going back and forth with this. I'm a control freak, so I don't know if I'd LIKE someone else doing all the 'controlling' (lol), but on the other hand, it might be nice to sit back and relax for once-especially on the wedding day!
I think I'm going to wait awhile and think about it. Then I'll decide based on my thoughts + how the budget is doing at that point.
