A lot of friends have started asking me if they can plan an AFTER PARTY after the wedding - UGH!!!! As if I really want to do this!! I'll be exhausted. I'm thinking if ppl. want to go out afterwards they can meet at the hotel bar. Right? Is anyone else organizing something?!?!? TIA!

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
we had a little something (alcohol, soda, cordials, etc) set-up in the large bridal suite after, for people at the hotel and anyone else who wanted to come back and party a little longer.
We didn't think anyone would want to come back, since it was 1am, but you'd be surprised (we were!!).
The hotel bar said they would stay open for us, at $50 per hour, so we passed on that. The bridal suite was big enough though, and since we booked the junior suite for the night of, we could slip out of the large bridal suite, whenever we wanted and go to our room, so people could continue to party/drink, and we did our own partying

We are having vans for the OOT guests or whoever stays at the hotel so we are planning an after party at the hotel bar until it closes!

We are having more than 1/2 the wedding staying at the hotel. Is anyone having food too or just drinks?

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
For those that are having people over at their bridal suite - how much does it cost to have liquor and some light food served????
Our bridal suite is about 600 sq. feet - I think that might get TIGHT for a lot of people...
Doesn't anyone just want to go to SLEEP!!?

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
I hear you about the whole sleeping thing and i think it depends on when you have to get up the next day, but my FH and I decided that we would rather have a day to relax in the hotel before flying for our HM on Monday (my wedding is on saturday) For me and the weddings I've been to/ been in, a lot of people will go back to their room to change and then go out to the bar. One of the reasons we chose the Harrison House was BECAUSE of the bar upstairs that'll stay open. I think its such a great time to keep the adrenaline going and see everyone you weren't able to spend much time with at the wedding. Just a thought :)

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
Our wedding ends at 5pm so we told everyone to come to the hotel (if they are local or staying at someone's house) after the reception and hang out outside, at the bar or in the pool and hot tub! I'm taking advantage of the day if I can - and hopefully, I won't pass out too early

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
It's not a bad idea to have ppl. meet at the hotel bar - okay, I just called the Hilton (where everyone is staying) but they close at midnight!!!!! Yikes - what if we reserved a room at a bar? Do we have to pay for people or can it just be pay as you go?

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
No. OUr wedding ends at midnight and I'll see everyone at the brunch and the next day (we also purposely didn't leave for our HM until Monday)...People can party on w/o us somewhere if they want. That time is for me and FH. .

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
We might do something in the city with a few close friends and some family on Sunday night but we'll both be too tired for an after party after the reception!

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
NO WAY!! Neither one of us want one and our wedding ends at 5:30 pm. I just want to go back to the room and relax with my new hubby and literally have nothing to do, well, ok, I can think of a few things
Most of our guests have kids and some have to work the next day so no.

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
Thanks for all your advice.......I really, really appreciate it!
I have found a club in the city (LIGHT) that will reserve some part of the room for our wedding guests that want to continue the party. There will probably be about 30 people going from our reception in midtown to Light - it takes about 10 minutes to walk it. Should I get a car service to schlep people back and forth????? I'd have to rent at least two cars to do it - could be a total schlep. Or should they just take taxis? What do you think?h

We had our after party at the Harrison House as well. If yuo're anything like me you won't want the night to end EVER. I nearly cried when they called for last call at the pub. It was such a great night and the last thing I wanted to do was go to bed!

Re: Are you having an AFTER PARTY?!?
I think Im either going to want to go to sleep or go the the hotel bar. I think FH would like to have an after party. I get exhausted very easily.
