Are you inviting your boss?

Original post by aug04bride

Are you inviting your boss- Even if you don't like him/her? Please share your thoughts on this.

ETA- I have 2. I report direcrtly to both-don't like one of them. I like who they report to. I know if I invite one I should invite the others. I work for a huge company and in a huge department. I can't and won't invite them all and have to be very careful how I handle.

Someone else on the team got married last year and everyone had soemthing to say about who she chose to invite. There is another team member getting married in May -I'll see how this one goes. I work in a very political place and don't want this to bite me in end later on. Most imprtantly I dont want to be uncomfortable on my wedding day

My FH and I have very good relationships with our bosses, so we really want them to know it would mean alot to us for them to be there, they both know we are having a small wedding, so my hope is that they will come with their SO's :)

I am inviting him and my immediate dept in the NYC location. I just hope I am still in this dept when the wedding rolls around or its gonna be a hard decision!

Question - how do you go about getting co-workers addresses for the invites? Excuse me, I am inviting you to my wedding, can I have your address????

Yes, I am definately inviting him. He is a great boss. I work for a large corporation, but am only inviting a few people.

I am invitng the head of my department. I will have been here over 6 yers at that point.
We are friendly, we have goen out after work, and have travelled for work together.
I am also inviitng her boss, the head of the company.
Mostly b/c he is the boss. He is fun though. He probbaly won't come b/ che live sin Maine & is only here 2 days aweek for wrok. ( Works from home the other days- has 5 kids)if he does it might be a little weird for the otehr co-workers, but only 2 of them aren't as clsoe to him.

I'm also invitign the 1 other person in my department & 3 peopel from another department. ther eis a 4th who is a maybe, jsut b/c I don't want to leave her out. SHe isnice, but we were't that clsoe & now she works from home so I don't see her much.
but that's 7/15, so that's probably rude, but I'm not close to the others.

As for addresses, I have soem, other are in teh ups computer ( work form home peopel) & my other co-wroker has most of them from her wedding.

I don't know what I'm going to do about inviting my boss. I work for the post office so my boss is the Postmaster. If I invite him, I have to invite my 2 supervisors. Then there are the carriers and clerks that I'm close to. I'm afraid that if I only invite a few, the others will be offended. I've even contemplated not inviting one person from my job so I don't insult anyone.

Yes, I adore the woman. She is very excited about getting an excuse to come to NY. Plus she loves my FH.

I am a dental hygienist and I work in three offices. I am under seven dentists total, I have no idea what to do. One office that I work in has five doctors and I am only close to three, but wouldn't it be disrespectful not to invite them? Making my guest list has been my toughest task yet!!!!!

I invited my direct supervisor (she was like a mother to me) and 1 of the 4 partners. I liked this man and got along fine with him, the other 3 though.....could have kissed my a$$

Inviting my boss, but having trouble who out of my coworkers to invite. Office of 21 people. Can't possibly invite all. Some feelings may be hurt, but I am promising myself I am only going to invite the ones I am closest to (maybe 6 including boss). It's a toughie....

I work in a small department and I have five co-workers who I interact with daily and hang out with from time to time when we aren't working--we have a lot of nighttime events we have to cover.

My problem is that I have worked at my office for three years and in these three years I have had four bosses, including one of my five co-workers who is an acting executive director right now. On Friday, we will be meeting our fifth new boss. I will have to invite this new boss even if I do or don't like her. I've already counted into our invite list the boss plus one since we began planning the wedding.

I also work for a huge company and a huge department. - I also work in a very young dept. so someone is always getting married, - 9 times out of 10 the bosses are invited, but do not attend. -
