Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

I was just wondering what everyone is doing.

There are about 30 of our guests staying overnight at the same hotel as me and my FH. Are you paying for the breakfast for everyone? Or is everyone on their own? One wedding I went to didn't, and one my FH went to did so we are not sure what to do. It will be about $1000 for everything, breakfast buffet, tax, tip all in all.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

I think if you can swing it, then great! Unfortunately, FH and I are paying for just about everything ourselves and can't afford to pay for brunch the next day. I'm sure your guests would understand if you didn't.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

My FH & I were planning on doing a brunch the day after for our out of town guests, bridal party & family. We haven't actually seriously looked into a place yet since our wedding isn't until November 07 - but I was hoping just to do it at the hotel where our out of town guests, etc. are staying.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

We had a breakfast buffet at the hotel where we'd blocked rooms. In our OOT boxes, we left a note that there would be a breakfast buffet available from 9-12. That way people could come and go as they pleased.

We are doing a brunch the next morning for all of our guests- over 50 of them! Because we are inviting them to come, we are paying!

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

We did one and because all of our guests were OTT, everyone came. It got pretty expensive, but if you can swing it, I say go for it. It's nice to see everyone the next morning...

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

Yes, we are having a day after brunch. We have loads of OOT guests (more than half) so we figured it was a nice gesture. To keep costs down though, we are keeping things light and having it at my parents home

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

well, our hotel includes breakfast in the hotel rate, but the breakfast only will be served until 9am. We MAY pay another 200 bucks or so to keep the breakfast open for another hour, until 10, but we'll see. We have a lot to do that day before we leave for our honeymoon, so we have to see if we want to stay at the hotel until 10.

We are going to invite guests down to the breakfast, 'hosted by the bride and groom', whether or not we pay for that extra hour or not. The only problem is that our hotel can't section off any tables for us, so I don't know if all the guests will definitely be together, unless we get down there early and save tables. But... whatever.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

No we are not - our hotel is the Hampton Inn and a light breakfast buffet is served. We will place, in the OOT bags, a note to come wish the bride and groom well in the morning before they journey onto their honeymoon. We have to leave the hotel by 9 AM or so, and we want to see out OOT guests before we leave as we won't see them for a long time. The Hampton Inns have a nice living room area, so this should suffice.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

some halls may provide this if you're having an early wedding, or if have alot of guests, some hotels will provide this...

doesn't hurt to ask, and you shouldnt be responsible for their breakfast! :)

We'd like to, but we really just can't swing it... but the hotel does offer a free buffet breakfast, so we hope to meet up with people then!

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

Our hotel offers a breakfast buffet. I'm not sure if we are going to be able to pay for everyone, or if we should just tell everyone about it and the cost and if they want to join us great. Not sure yet...

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

If I were having one I would offer to pay. My parents probably would end up actually paying but I would offer first.. but we're definatly NOT having one... I am NOT getting out of that suite early the next morning! No offense to my family or anything- Love em all to death, but I don't wanna see anyone but DH the morning after

if we could afford it, we would. but we're footing the bill for everything wedding related as it is, so we're really strapped for cash.

Re: Are you paying for breakfast the day after for out of town guests?

i think it is totally a nice gesture to pay for a post wedding brunch, but also totally not expected or necessary. just another extra that's nice to do, but no big deal if you can't.

we're not doing it, as our guests will be sprinkled at different hotels in the area. i'm also not a morning person, so i'd really like to sleep in late with my new hubby that morning & just enjoy our first morning together as husband & wife!
