I have a 10 nieces and nephews who are all in my wedding party and a bunch of cousins who have children. I feel like if I put 'and family' on the envelopes they will feel like they have to bring their children when I would really prefer no children or only children over 12 because it is going to be way too many kids. It is hard because the kids are family too and should be invited and people might get offended if I don't invite them but at the same time is is expensive to have the kids come too and it takes away from the formality of the event. I don't want a bunch of kids taking up the dance floor. You also can't invite the 12 year old kid and not their younger sibling. What are you guys doing?

Re: Are you putting 'and family' on your invites?
Thank you all so much for your input. I think I will only put & family for my immediate family since all of my nieces and nephews will be in the wedding party anyway. I don't have any young cousins but I have a ton of second cousins so I guess I won't invite any of those since it would be way too many. If anyone calls and asks if they could bring a kid because of babysitting issues than i will say sure. Hopefully this works and my cousins don't get upset. Thanks again.

I have 11 nieces and nephews so I'm def inviting kids, plus half of them will be in the bridal party anyway lol. Most of them are older now though which is good.
We're also inviting all of my cousins kids, but they're all teenagers or in their 20's so it's good. We're writing 'and family' on the invites.
