Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I don't want to because I'm wearing a headband with a veil attached and if I wear it too long, it will ruin my hair-do. It will also give me a headache.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I think I am removing mine after the ceremony. Seems like a waste to even have it at all lol.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I wore my veil all night long. It didn't bother me in the least. But my veil was on a comb separate from my tiara.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I'll keep mine on, but it's coming off right after our first dance.. I'm not paying all that money to have my hair done, to have it covered all night.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I totally thought I'd take my veil off right after the ceremony. I ended up keeping it on until about half-way through the reception. I actually wish I had kept in on all night - I think I looked better with it on. Oh well . . .
I think it is totally up to you. Just see how it goes the day of the wedding -

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I'm the opposite of Marcella. I am keeping my hair down but I spent a lot on the veil and headpiece so I want to keep it on. Plus I love how it looks and it doesn't get in my way

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I have very fine thin hair and if I have anything in my hair, it will mess it up. My hair will take the form of whatever is smooshing it.

Keeping mine on. I have a separate one layer veil from a little tiara. I want to have the complete look all night.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

Mine'll most likely come off right after the first dance....

It's a cathedral length, and I can't be bothered carrying it around all night long...

To each their own I guess!

Good luck

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

i took mine off after the ceremony and all my pictures...I took it off right before cocktail...I wonder if I should have left it on for the first dance, but I felt awkward taking it off at the table and I didn't want to dissapear and fix my hair...

to each there own.....

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I went into the bridal suite after the first dance and took it off. At the same time did my bustle for my dress.

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

My cathedral veil is coming off after the ceremony and formal pictures.
I am keeping the headpiece on all night.
Luckily, my dress comes with the coolest armbands, all beaded and pretty, that a sheer chiffon shawl is attached to, so it drapes over the back of my dress, but doesnt hide anything. It's so pretty, I will put that on for the reception and still feel like a Princess

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I paid so much $ for my veil, I wore it all night long & it didn't bother me one bit! My hairdresser made sure it was in tight so it didn't move when people hugged me. You're only going to wear it once, it seems like such a waste if you take it off, i say wear it & wear it proudly!

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the ****tail hour?

I haven't bought mine yet. But, I'm most likely keeping it on all night because I'm only going to be a bride once (hopefully) and I want the feeling to last as long as it can. lol

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I will wear mine. It will be short so I don't think it will bother me. You only get one shot at being a bride and I want to feel like one all night with my veil

Re: Are you wearing your veil during the cocktail hour?

I think I would if it weren't cathedral length, but I really LOVE the cathedral, so my arm bands and shawl will do the trick
