Re: are your parents happy with who you have chosen to marry
i am an only child, and my parents are 'Barone-like' if you watch Everybody Loves Raymond. No one is good enough for me.
It took a long time, for Boosh to be on the same level as me in my parents eyes, but she is there now. Her and my mom have grown close, and my dad, treats her as he does me. He is a big PIA with certain things (finances, payments, 401K) and he likes to verbally jab at me. Now, he verbally jabs at her, and when he does that, it means you have his love and respect. So, she's there too
With my IL's, let's put it this way, if Boosh and I ever divorced, they'd really miss Boosh.

I never thought they would forgive DH (then my boyfriend) for dumping me and then traveling halfway across the country( on my dollar) to try and work things out only to tell me that he did not love me. Fortunately my parents are wonderful forgiving people and they love my DH tremendously.

I often think my parents love my husband more than me sometimes They ask how HE is before they ask about me most days
SAME HERE!!! example.. i made all the favors for my sisters sweet 16 last week,,, my thumbs were bleeding from tieing the strings from all these things... mike helped tape the paper together... i tell my mom this and she goes 'OHHHH tell Mike thank you soooo much!! is he ok?' i was like YEAH, YOURE WELCOME
also, when we 1st started dating, my mom said that if we ever broke up, that she still wanted visiting rights
so yeah, they love him

Why do they feel that way towards him, Lolita?
How about your in-laws? What are their feelings towards you?

Tray..... His mom and sisters adore me! They really do love me. Its all great with me and his family. I'm like their new baby sister.
As for MY parents not accepting him.. its a long story. ALot of people on here already know. For the most part its because of our age difference. He is 12 years older. Not that thats a huge age gap (well its pretty big) but when we started to haev feelings for one another I was 17 and he was 29. (while my mom and dad were like 35) So that doesnt look to good. They felt he was taking advantage of me and just wanted me to 'take away my virginity' Anyway, so now my mom is pretty good about it, but my dad is not at all. After we got married and i went to tehir house my dad called me in his bedroom and was saying VERY nasty things to me and he said 'i dont even want you in my house right now'. I havent spoken to him since. he's a very selfish man.

My dad and his wife love Bri. If my mom was alive i'm sure she would loved her too. If my mom was alive my son's mother would be up s h i t s creek for what she did to me. She would not have liked her.

That sounds like a story, mind sharing? If its really person or painful or whatever you can tell me to buzz off.

When my son was born she tortured me. I mean she really put me through h e l l. Keeping Connor away from me and my family. The last straw was at his christening when she was kissing another guy in front of my whole family. I lost it. What I meant was If my mom was alive today, what she did to me would have never happened, and she would have tore her a new arse. My mom was old school, so she would have had no problem going after her, and beating some respect into her. You can fm me if you have any more questions.
