Does anyone have any information on Areca in Plainview? I was hoping to get a ballpark figure. I know that it varies with season, time, day of the week, etc. but I was wondering if anyone could share ANY info with me before I get my hopes up!
TIA!

Re: Areca?
I went to see it. Sorry I have thrown out all of the info I no longer had use for, or I would need another room in my apt.
IMO, it felt like a hotel. You walk into a lobby like a hotel, and there is a restaurant that is not part of the wedding. I found the cocktail room to be on the smaller side. This just wasnt the feel I was looking for. It is pretty though.
Did you do a search, someone on here is getting married there.
AND SHE BEAT ME TO IT!!

Re: Areca?
Flee Flee got married there last September..you might want to FM her.. It was a beautiful place, and she had a gorgeous day, so during the cocktail hour you were able to go outside, the food was great as well. Good Luck

I am going to Areca tomorrow to look at theb ballroom and talk prices...could you give me a ballpark of what they quoted you for a Friday and Saturday night wedding. It would be great if I could go in there with an idea. Thanks! any other info would be great

Re: Areca?
Hi! I have been to Areca and will most likely book this week - it's awesome! Cocktail hour can be in the very funky/classy restaurant, and ballroom is gorgeous (max 200 people i'd say, even if they try to convince you of more). The whole thing is great, and due to new management and a semi-new name, prices are very afforadable. Check them out and i'm sure you'll love it. well, depends on how 'traditional' your cocktail hour needs to be - i personally prefer the palm trees, lights, sound systems, etc. because it's done in a tasteful and fun way. Main foyer and drive up area is beautiful and new, and it also overlooks a lake w/fountains - outside terrace the whole way around (both cocktail room and ballroom go outside with french doors:) Let me know your thoughts, but soon enough it might not be so affordable so go soon! good luck! also since you're a september wedding it will be more - but compared to some of the crazy priced places it's much better.
