I'm planning to wed is Sept.05... I live in Jersey, but born in Staten Islans. I was planning to wed in Staten Island because I was born there, but my dad informed me about Ariana Waterfall, in Long Island. Someone he knows is getting married there in Oct. and said they have Complete packages... Includes guest up to 100, limo, DJ, photography , videography, etc.. all for jus $11,000, some packages for less. I made an appointment to go check it out next week.
Has anyone heard of this place and if so?? Any comments??? Thoughts? Have you heard of any other sites that have all this included at the site.. It sounds like an awesome deal.

Re: Ariana Waterfalls
Brentwood Country Club, Meditiranian Manor, Holbrook Country Club all have this.
Also some wedding stores have complete packages, like Commack Wedding Center. Queens Bridal Center.

Congrats and Welcome to LIW....
As far as Ariana waterfalls, I have never been there. When i was looking, I went to their site and the package did sound good. But I am not sure how much flexiblity you have with the vendors that come in the package. The location is in a very busy part of Hempstead. Not sure how many guests you are execting, I don't think they accomodate larger receptions.
There are a few girls using them here - Try FMing LadyPrincess.

Hi... I looked at that place too when we where looking for a hall. The website made the place look really nice and I was excited to check it out! The reception place looked nothing like the one of the website. The exterior of the hall looked like a cheap motel. It's also right next to Wendys and IHOP. When I mean next to, I mean only 15 feet away. I have nothing against these chain restaurants but, we were looking for something a little more secluded. The carpet also had a lot of cigarette holes in them and it wasn't that clean either. We were so turned off by the place and couldn't believe the amount of money they were going to charge us for the dump.
But, I say if you are just starting to look at halls to have your wedding. maybe you still want to check it out to do some comparisons.
Good luck....

I just gotta butt in here and say that I dont think this is nice. I usually dont contribute to drama but.....I understand its your opinion but some really good friends of mine are getting married there and I know the fact that you called the place a dump would hurt them.
And I dont see whats wrong with being next to a Wendys or an IHOP. My place is next to a Holiday Inn and a DSW. I see nothing wrong with that.

Well said, hbradio
We all have vast differences in opinions and personal taste (which is why there are so many halls on LI) but there is a far nicer way of saying something critical, rather than the negative way this comment was presented by Tina.
By using such harsh language, it might have inadvertently hurt some of the lovely brides-2-be that might be having their weddings here...
I urge everyone to explore all their options and see for themselves which halls might be the 'one' for them. I saw many negative posts about my hall (located on a busy street next to a firehouse, b/t/w) and yet it was still the wedding of my dreams
GOOD LUCK to the original poster, and WELCOME

Like I had mentioned, I have nothing against Wendys or IHop. I just didn't want to have my wedding pictures taken outside of the hall with a big Wendy's sign in the background. Everyone has different preferences. But, I wasn't impressed. Just my oponion, and not trying to stir up 'drama.'

I don't see the problem with what Tinatan wrote. I think many people on here are 'too nice' and don't give real opinions. If someone asks for opinions - they want good and bad, otherwise they wouldn't ask. If she said she was getting married there and Tina replied with all of that - then you'd have a point. I think what she said gives a description that is helpful. You may not see the chain restaurants and cigarette holes as bad - to each his own - but now Borricuamorena0905 knows that there are chain restaurants next door which may or may not influence her decision. I know I always want honest opinions to my questions.

Thanks for saying I have no point. That was sweet.
I think she could have said it in a more tactful way besides THAT PLACE IS A DUMP.
Someone dissed Chateau Briand yesterday and I didnt even get mad because it was said in a tactful manner.

You're right about the dump comment, but overall I wouldn't have replied to what she wrote, I would have taken her opinion with a grain of salt and added it to the other opinions and then made my own.

hbradio, LIweddings chat is designed so we brides can help each other. I simply gave my opinion and didn't' mean to offend anyone. Why must everything be sugar coated and sweet here. We're all grown ups.
P.S. i actually think that Chateau Briand is a beautiful place and being next to DSW and Holiday Inn does not and did not affect my opionion of the hall at all.

Re: Ariana Waterfalls
My brother had his reception there in May of 02. The DJ and MC that came as part of the package were really good, especially the MC. He had a lot of energy and the music was great. Even my parents, who are not big dancers/partiers commented on how good he was. I believe my SIL said his fee was additional, but if you want something really lively (more so than any other wedding I've been to, at least) the expense might be worth it.
I remember specifically: -LOTS of food brought done to the bridal suite (my SIL wanted us ALL to make our entrance together and didn't want us at the cocktail hour, but I snuck up to it to look for my loser date). I remember that food being really good, though I don't remember the entree. -the bar is separate but steps away from the main room. I liked the way that was set up. -there were really pretty covers on the chairs in the ballroom. -your wedding would be the only one going on at that time. -their video was really nice, the photos were nice but sort of generic. -cake was pretty, and I don't remember how it tasted. But if it was gross I know I would have remembered! -I liked our flowers a lot too- my SIL had a cascade bouquet, which isn't my thing, but the flowers were very prettty. Hope this helps!
ETA- someone mentioned the lack of grounds, which was a consideration for me when I chose my hall. For my brother's wedding we went to the gazebo behind the Garden City Hotel and then took pics in the reception room before it began. Those might be things to consider if a place does not have good outdoor photo ops.

When giving opinions & this can be done with tact.
Albeit, we all must make our own choices.

Re: Ariana Waterfalls
Hi and Congrats on your engagement. I actually have been to Ariana Waterfall about 4 years ago for a wedding. Everyone have different tastes and look for different things when looking for a hall. The bride that got married at Ariana took pictures in the grounds of the Garden City Hotel and the gazebo in the back since the place doesn't have grounds. In my opinion, I think that you can get more for your money somewhere else that offers the packages. . LI has many places really reasonable and that offer packages. Also, if you choose this place, make sure they put the blinds up. The bride has in all of her pictures those blinds and took away from it.(Unless they have changed that recently). And the pictures that they used on the website for the reception ball room was for this wedding I went to and they were so impressed with the CP's and the way she set up the room that they asked her permission to use those pictures for their website. After she booked Ariana, she saw other places and thought that if she had seen those places before she wouldn't have booked there. The more places you go and see, the more you know what you are looking for and what is important for you and your future husband, which is what really matters. We all have to make our decisions and we are the only ones who have to be happy with that. Regardless of which place you choose, your day will be Special. Good Luck on your search and keep us posted. And Welcome to LIW !!!!

For the record...it is NOT 15 feet away. They actually can give you the measurements if you want and I asked and have them on my contract! That's #1.
#2 is if you would have really looked into the hall, you would know that you can NOT see the Wendy's sign in the background!
#3...Thanks for calling the place I am having my reception a 'cheap motel'. I'll remember that the next time I comment on how beautiful you looked on your wedding day, as I did earlier. Maybe I should be a nasty person and go back and edit that and tell you something close to the hall looks like a 'cheap motel' and see how you like it.
#4 I am strongly, strongly, strongly in LOVE with my site. After all, I am NOT getting married outside at the IHOP or the Wendy's. I am going inside to a beautiful, clean hall with wonderful people and great food, along with excellent service!
In closing....it is one thing to say 'I wasn't impressed' and seriously another to say the place looked like a 'cheap motel'. I would have resepected you more if you would have just said something a bit nicer and less offensive to those of us getting married there.
Congrats on your day!!!
Boricuamorenna....YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!! Please believe me...I drilled them very much, brought them the comments from this site and I continue to drill them and they have been nothing but nice and helpful to me! Unlike the 'cheap motel' our dearest TinaTan visited and disliked so strongly! You will not be disappointed. I am just glad that I don't let the reviews on here get to me, because I would probably have to find our critic and rip her a new one!!!
HBRadio and Felicia...Thank You...TRULY! Also....TracyinQueens and James'Pokey

You are absolutely right about a FEW things....
1. You don't have to sugar coat things but you don't have to dump CRAP (literally) all over them either
2. LIweddings chat is designed so we brides can help each other. And in no way, shape or form did you 'help' her. You LIED to her and you called the place that she potentially may want to have her wedding at a 'cheap motel'
