Arm Waxing for Wedding?

Arm Waxing for Wedding?

I'm not that hairy but the idea is appealing...very soft and feminine, clean...who does this (out of you guys), how long does it last before you get stubblies and is it a good idea?

I considered it. I am not hairy either and my arm hair is blonde but I had a few long ones that were worrying me in my strapless dress but my hairdress talked me out of it and instead she buzzed my lower arm with a hair buzzer. Basically gave me arms a hair cut and it was perfect.

If your hair is blonde, give it a try!!

LOL - the hair on my head is almost black!!!!! The hair on my arms is not that bad though, but it is still a thought.....

I did this for my wedding. With the strapless white gown I just wanted to look all smooth. It lasted at least three weeks before coming in again slowly. One piece of advice -- do it a week before the wedding I had some red marks, your skin isn't used to it!

I have my arms waxed all the time, I just love that very very smooth feeling. Doesn't hurt at all!

I do it too. I am not hairy at all, and most of the hair on my arms is blonde but I HATE hair! I love it! It takes about 3 weeks for it to grow back, but that all depends on how fast your hair grows and how 'hairy' you are to begin with. One word of advice...I don't have sensitive skin, but even when I get my eyebrows waxed, if they put baby oil on after, i get little hives for a couple of days. The first time I had my arms waxed the lady put baby oil on my arms after and I got a few hives there as well. So basically go with what you know, if you tend to break out from waxing in other area's of your body, the same will happen on your arms.

You will die when you feel how soft it is though!

Rach- I was thinking of doing this too. I was going to try it first, like, soon. I wouldn't try it for the first time the week before. Just in case of redness, or of breaking out w/ a few hives etc... & I've got blonde hair on my arms.
I wanted to do my legs too, so I don't have to worry about the stubble or shaving on the HM... basically, I was going to get my entire body waxed-lol!!! brazillian, legs, arms, the works! want to try arms together?

I used Nair on my arms the Wednesday before my Friday wedding. I was smooth and soft. The only complaint I have is that the smell is a bit strong and lasts a full day.

I have never done this, but aren't you concerned about it growing back thicker and coarser? I had a friend who did this and that's what happened to her. Now she always has to wax.

Thats just a myth... it only looks darker and thicker till it grows out
I may do it, cuz my arms are a bit hairy. People tell me its not that bad, but i feel like its too hairy to go with a wedding dress.

I wax my arms (full, under amrs too cause I can't get a close enough shave), eyebrows, brazilian....lol, like I said in my last post I HATE hair! Everything I wax comes in finer and DOESN'T ITCH! Maybe differs for different people, but I am a firm believer. If I could wait for my leg hair grow in long enough to wax that I would, but I get a pretty good smooth shave on my legs.

No bikini wax for me! No way Jose! I tried it twice and was in tears both times. My dermatoligist even told me that it would probably be very painful for me b/c I am a girl with 'coarse dark hair.' Ahem. SO...

Yes Michellie, I'll go with you to get an arm wax.....

If I can't scrounge up money to get my arms lasered, I am totally getting them waxed for my wedding! Let me know how it goes!

Be careful. Anytime I wax anywhere, I get a mild rash for a few days, then I break out mildly for a day or two in that area. I have ultra sensitive skin, and even sensitive skin wax bothers me. Just make sure to try it far enough in advance to make sure it won't irritate you on your wedding day.

I buzz them also, and my hairs are dark. If you wax they may come back with a vengance.

Just buzz them

I think it depends on your hair. I tried waxing my arms once, and never again. I have dark thick hair and I am just going to buzz it and maybe bleach it for the wedding. No way am I waxing. Besides, when i did wax, it grew in itchy and stubbly.

I have hairy arms (Italian genes) but thankfully it's pretty blond. It sounds painful though
