Definitely leave the Occidental for dinner a few times while you're there. We went there Sept. '09 and the food was not the greatest... not horrible but not great. We left only one night to go to Flying Fishbone which was amazing! We took a cab there and back for $60 and it was well worth it! You eat right on the water and some people eat with their table/feet right in the water. It was the most romantic dinner we've ever had! Make reservations though for right before sunset!!
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
LOVE Aruba!! I stayed at the Marriott. There are so many great restaurants in Aruba to try!!
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
We stayed at the Hyatt and we loved it!!! I also heard great things about the Radisson.
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
we stayed at the hyatt and loved it!! we didn't do all inclusive because we heard that the restaurants were great so we wanted to eat dinner out... we got breakfast included with our package so we would just eat a huge breakfast in the morning and then go venture out for dinner each night

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
We went to Aruba this past summer as an early one year anniversary present to each other. We stayed at the Westin, which was nice but not really a 'honeymoon' choice. If we were to go again, we'd definitely stay at the Hyatt. It's gorgeous! I don't know if an all inclusive package really pays in Aruba since there's so much to do and see around the island plus sooooo many great restauarants to venture out to. You really can't go wrong in Aruba though - all the hotels are connected to the same beach and they're all well kept!
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
we're thinking of the same!
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
Thanks everyone for the great information! We keep hearing different things about whether to do all-inclusive or not. Which doesn't make our decision an better...yikes!
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
arubas the one place you might kick yourself for all inclusive.. unless youre only staying for three days, the food, weather and ppl are so amazing that youre going to wind up spending lots of $$ at other places...
Re: Aruba Honeymoon
go to www.bucuti.com, they have an all inclusive option, i think its like 35 a day, i love this place, really quiet and private, but close to all the good stuff.
