ASIAN AMERICAN BRIDES

Original post by jessnyc711

I just thought that I would like to get some chatting on the site on Asian American Brides and wedding ideas. Not sure if there are many out there, but hey - let me know how you are incorporating your ethnic background into your wedding day. I'm Korean American adopted by Italians and getting married to a Hispanic hottie!! Ha ha, I'm not joking, for real!!

Anyone know of any other places?

I found another place called wedding-box.com. They are also in flushing. I went and visited this weekend. They also have packages but I didn't like the pictures so much... Feel free to go visit as well.

Do they do make up at this place in Flushing? Does anyone know of any bi-lingual officiants, Korean speaking and American....

They do makeup and hair in the overall package.. not sure about just makeup and hair.. but you call and ask.. their number should be on the website.

Okay, I'm on another search, now for a Korean officiant that can perform a bilingual ceremony, anyone, anyone - it's tough!!

I visited WeddingBox in flushing also. They seem really nice. The price is much more affordable than Weddinggroupone.
They can do just makeup/hair b/c that's what I am asking for. However, I don't know of anyone who used them. Has anyone used them? Any opinions/thought?

I think they are pretty new in business.

sorry if this is off the subject, but i was wondering if anyone knows anyone good for make-up? i have gotten my make-up done at a few different make-up counters, and the make-up artists usually try to do weird things with my eyes. thanks for any info!

Re: ASIAN AMERICAN BRIDES

My sister is Korean and did her own makeup. My other sister did her own as well as my fiancees. Have you tried some ethnic places? Most don't have the experience to do the face or hair.

FM me if you have any other questions.

Have you tried Flushing.? Where do you live and how far would you drive.

My sis will be posting pics soon of her wedding at NRC from this past sunday.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

Hi, Winnietoots...

I recently got married and I found this make-up person at SAKS in mahattan!! Her name is Judy Pham and her number is 408-605-9335. She did a wonderful job. She's also asian and no one else asian make-up better than an asian person. I posted my wedding pics on this website, check it out. If you like the way my make-up came out, definitely give her a call. She's awesome!

Hi everyone! Just found this thread and wanted to introduce myself. I'm of Filipino descent (both my parents) and my FH is of Uruguayan descent with an Armenian background. Yes, I've heard it all.....anyway, we're going to incorporate many of the Filipino traditions into our Catholic mass, as well as the money dance during the reception.
Nice meeeting you all....lol...

Hello Ladies, I just went to my friends wedding at Flowerfield, she's Chinese and it was a wonderful wedding, she did change into the dress later during the reception and it was wonderful to see her all dressed up!! Her makeup artist did a wonderful job on our makeup, I brought my own mac eyeshadow, non-matte, since shimmer looks better on asian eyes and she did a great job. I'll get more info and pass it on. I'll try to scan my pictures too.

I'm Filipino and my FI is half Chinese. He knows absolutely nothing about this Chinese side but I really wanted to integrate a lot of Filipino traditions in our ceremony - but with a modern twist.

During the coin ceremony...we will have 13 of our friends present us with a coin. The coins will represent the 13 universal tenets of marriage: Love, Trust, Commitment, Respect, Joy, Happiness, Harmony, Wisdom, Wholeness, Nurturing, Caring, Cooperation and Peace.

During the veil ceremony...our parents are our sponsors.

Not sure what else we'd like to include...

We may have a dim sum breakfast after the wedding!
