Asking for Prayers

This has been one of the worst years
It should be the best but it hasn't been.......


My mom has been really sick this year (I have posted about it in the past) we almost lost her.
Now she is in a nursing home. We had her at home but she was refusing to eat and getting worse. The home is the best place for her at this point. The doctors feel that she might have bone cancer but she is refusing the bone morrow tests and there is nothing we can do about it. I am her health proxy but as long as the doctors feel that she is able to make her own decisions there is no way I can step in. We have all talked with her but it has done no good.
I think she is afraid of the test but more afraid of the results.
We think it is only a matter of time. My mother is 72 and has lived a very active life, I know that it kills her that not only her ability to walk has been taken away but so has her sight.


Now to top it off
My dad (who is 80) just found out that his cancer is back. He has had kidney and bladder cancer in the past and now he has prostate cancer.
The poor man is already falling apart for what has happened to his wife of over 50 years and now he has to deal with this.

Please everyone say a prayer for my family.

your father sounds like a VERRRY strong man.. having beat cancer before.... and your poor mom ... i hope that someone can convince her to take the tests and get the help she may need. I know that this must be horrible for both of them .. .to be sick and not together.. but the nursing home is the BEST PLACE for your mom.. if she is refusing to eat at home.I pray that she gets the tests and the help that she needs... and I pray that she recovers....... in the meantime.. all you can do is continue being the supportive daughter that you OBVIOUSLY ARE.. and just love love love them.. it's the BEST MEDICINE they could get

I'm so sorry that things are so difficult right now. But I think the BEST place for your mother is the nursing home. At least there she will get constant attention and she will eat...and that will help her get some strength back.

I've had the bone marrow test and, true it is VERY painful, but it'll be so much easier to make a decision about her treatment once they do that and get the results. She can even chose not to get treatment if she wants to.
