Asking the BP

Tonight FH and I are having an informal get together with our Bridal Party (excluding 2 who can't make it) at a local bar/restaurant to ask them all formally. The gifts came out awesome and can't wait to present them with it. So happy.

How exciting! I've been pushing FH to do this and he's like, 'Yeah, we've got time.' Ummmm, it doesn't take a monumental effort to get everybody together and ask them!

I didn't know we are supposed to give our bridal party gifts to ask them. Is everyone doing this or can we just ask them

I don't think its something that everyone has to do. I ordered cookies that said 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' (they're wedding dress cookies too!) and I gave them each a cookie and a card. 2 of my friends are married and 1 got a ring pop and the other got me a card!

I personally like the emotional/personal touches, it makes a great story!

I just sent out cards in the mail that I ordered through etsy (pics in my album). Then I hand wrote a small note to each of them telling them in more detail why I wanted them to be apart of the big day. I thought it was perfect, inexpensive and thoughtful!

I don't think it's absolutely necessary. Both times that I was a bridesmaid, the girls just asked. I didn't give gifts either when I asked my girls.

Hi Ladies: sorry for not getting back sooner but yesterday and last night was a long day and then I considered it holy hangover day. Lol. But FH got me out of the house today and we had a fun day.

So for the kids (we asked them on Easter) we got for my niece a book by Karen Haas titled Will you be my Flower Girl?, and a little flower that dances when you put it in sunlight. My nephews I got them these little puzzles when once they put it together it popped the question, and they got chocolate cigars. (Someone on here I forgot who recommended chocolate cigars, Thank you.)

For my sister I gave her the movie Made of Honor and the rest of the girls got the Bridesmaid movie and they all got white chocolate body lollipops with a dress on it.

The guys I got them glasses from Coors Light that are shaped like footballs and they all have black socks saying groomsmen and best man. We put the socks in the glass and fuzz on top and the fuzz was supposed to make it be the head of the beer. They all got chocolate cigars as well.

We just asked his Aunt today if her son could be our ring bearer and she was ecstatic but I haven't gotten his gift yet.

They all received cards as well with very special sayings.

They all said yes. I don't have pictures right now but I'm getting them together and will put them up shortly.
