I was served with my walking papers at work, after 5 1/2 years, apparently my payroll position has been eliminated. There are more personal reasons as to why I was let go and not the other payroll person, but whatever I care, but I don't care at the same time because I have been miserable for the past year there.
It sux but the timing is perfect because I have some things coming up and it will all work out, I will definitely be occupied up until the wedding and then after the HM it will be full on job search.

things have weird ways of panning out. you were unhappy and having issues for some time now...treat this as a sign that it was time for you to move on. you have work experience so when the time comes to do your job search hopefully the economy will have picked up and you find something right away.
when my job goes off our hiring freeze i'll ask around. you already work with my company anyways hehe

I'm more pissed of how things were handled than anything else and I'm definitely looking at it as a good thing. I'm generally not an optimistic person as I'm being now, but I really do think this is one of the best things that could have happened

I am really sorry to hear that happened to you! I totally can relate! I was laid off in November...dont you hate how they wait until five mins before you are supposed to go home for the day, and worked hard all day long....to tell you their news??
Keep your head up and remain optimistic..it may be a blessing in disguise..mine was...I actually found an even better position two months later...and I am really happy now...they actually did me a favor!!
