Not sure what we're going to do yet. Atlantica was my dream place forever, and when we figured out we could afford it, we were over the moon.

Just an FYI for all your brides that have booked at the Atlantica or plan on it. My cousin was suppose to get married there on Nov. 14,2009. 5 weeks before her weddding they called and told her that they werent renewing their lease and had to CANCEL her wedding. She is not sure she is getting all her money back and also is frantically looking for a new venue. She lives in Florida which makes this so much worse. So very CAREFUL when you book here..you never know what they will do to you..

Re: Atlantica bride support group
I ended up booking at the Bourne Mansion, had to change my date by a week. We met with Ginny Jacobs last week at the Allegria but decided not to do it there, we've been emailing and calling about getting our deposit back, and of course no ones getting back to us

Re: Atlantica bride support group
I am the disappointed MOB and i got the 'call' on saturday night (10/10) about atlantica closing. Needless to say we were all devastated!!! My daughter (the bride) lives out of town so I went to see the Allegria on Sunday because I wanted my money back! I allowed Ginny to show me around but it was not at all what we wanted. And - she said the 'tent' belongs to them and it would be 'put up' on the beach for each wedding - are they kidding??? OR - maybe the rooftop would be finished (but she could not promise) by May (when we were booked). (she was having the ceremony there). I said NO thankyou - when did you know about this? She said about a month (i'm sure it was much much longer than that!!!) and I was extremely upset and asked for my money back and she wrote me a check right there and then. SO - if you are having trouble getting your deposit back GO THERE and say you want it back right away, that you are NOT HAPPY with this place -and be aggressive!!! Anyway, we are searching for a new venue and hopefully booking Lands End - lovely, not Atlantica, nothing is Atlantica - but what can we do? My daughter is coming in this weekend to look at Lands End and I'm hoping we book it! SOOOOOOOO disappointed - and how horrible that they LIED LIED LIED to us all!!!!! Good luck all!

Re: Atlantica bride support group
Hi everyone,
I am an old bride, but a good friend of mine was supposed to be getting married at Atlantica this May. They cancelled on her and she is SO upset. She saw the Allegria but it is not what she wanted.
I'm wondering what the Atlantica is doing for everyone? She may not be able to book the same date at another location, and might have to cancel her contract with her other vendors as a result (if they don't have her new date available). Is Atlantica planning on paying for these damages? Are they offering any compensation?
TIA

Re: Atlantica bride support group
This is the question i posed to Ginny (jacobs) - and she said their contract does NOT say that they would have to compensate for our loss of out other vendors! I am still reeling from this!!!! It has consumed my life (not in a good way) and my daughter - the bride - is so down as well - oh, what a bummer! Keep me posted!

I am an 09er crashing. I was looking to see what was happening with the Atlantica girls. I got married at Lands End and LOVED it. They are fabulous. I always wanted to get married at Atlantica until I saw Lands End. I loved it even more and the food and service was incredible. They are so professional and I treated me amazingly. I am working on my review now.

YEA!! lands end booked!
thanks all for your good comments on lands end - my daughter came in this weekend and yes, she really liked it and i'm sure that her wedding will be beautiful there. i still cannot get over what they did to us from atlantica! apparently my daughter knows another upcoming atlantica bride who's wedding was booked for july and she hasn't even been notified of their closing yet! how awful!! i'm wondering where on earth the allegria is having their ceremonies - i'm so anxious to hear how their weddings go for the poor girls who had no choice but to book there. although it's very pretty, it's NOT westhampton, but a modern hotel with a gorgeous view. I'm wondering how the rest of the former atlantica brides are making out. good luck! by the way, we did have to change the wedding date and i'm fortunate that our vendors are available for our new date - oh - but what a pain this whole thing is!!!!

Re: Atlantica bride support group
Yea I was scheduled for Sept 10th 2010 at Atlantica. Gurney's Inn was still available so I booked there. So if you are looking for a beach it's a great alternative to Atlantica. And you actually get to have the ceremony on the sand which I like.
Good luck to everyone with rebooking. Just remember everything happens for a reason and let's hope its for the better :)

Re: Atlantica bride support group
I posted this under the 09 brides because I am an 09 bride, but I am also affected by Atlantica!!!!! Support much needed....=-(
Hey ladies...I just read through the posts and I'd like to say that my wedding for November 14, 2009 (yes this year) was cancelled by Atlantica. It has been an absolute nightmare. I was told October 6th, 2009 and I just found out that Ginny Jacobs and Atlantica Caterers will not be paying for any overage fees. I have been forced to send out new invites (my first one's cost 5000 dollars) and I had to change my ceremony and venue within 5 weeks of the wedding. Please don't book with the Allegria! Regardless of it's beauty, the people that run Atlantica Caterers are not nice people. They are not doing right by my wedding and the wedding that was affected on November 7th, 2009. We are scrambling for last minute details and now my wedding is costing me 20,000 dollars more! I am actually having it at the Inn at Quogue's restaurant, Restaurant at the Inn. Dee, the owner, has been great and she is putting up a tent. We are doing the rehearsal dinner there too. All my guests are staying at this hotel and I am now looking at as a destination wedding for my guests. The food is fantastic and better than Atlantica, and if all goes well, I will recommend this spot to all the brides affected by the Atlantica in Westhampton. Please please do not book at the Allegria! These people are horrible. And it seems as if they are accustomed to moving weddings. They had to move a ton of summer weddings in 2009 from Allegria to Atlantica because the Allegria was not finished. I can't believe they do business like they do. Also, they just got a really crappy review in the NY TImes for poor service and not so good food. Vote No for Atlantica at the Allegria!

Re: Atlantica bride support group
I can't believe that they can do that to you! I feel for you - and you must be going nuts right now but I know that it will be even better than before.
I can't get over the fact that they won't pay you for any of the differences or extra cost you inccured (such as printing new invites)! makes me so mad.
I get so disgusted every time I hear them doing another bride wrong.
