Re: Married at Atlantica this summer??! New Questions!
How far in advance did you start booking vendors? We have a long time, just secured October 1, 2010!
I have heard wonderful things about verdi
In response to one of your earlier questions, I plan on having a runner (saw a beautiful one on here, forget where though ). I reall like the idea of being showered with flower petals, just don't know if it will work due to ceremony and reception in same place. I am glad that I have a long time to figure out all of the details!
Are you going to have a signature drink?

congrats on your date!! it goes so fast! all of a sudden, we only have 4 months left! OMG. enjoy every minute of your planning that you can! :o)
i have a website for a person that makes personalized aisle runners if you want the addy. FM for info :o)
i know, i love the petal idea too...i just don't know if it's possible :o) it's totally because it's in the same place, so there's no...like exit
that's so funny you asked about a signature drink. we actually just started looking into it!! we think that's a cool idea! i'm not exactly sure how to figure that out, but we'd like one. how about you?? have you decided on having one yet?

we are definitely going to have a signature drink or drinks, one to represent both FH and my styles. I am not sure what they will be yet. We are thinking of having some sort of light drink available to our guests pre-ceremony to have in that room downstairs. Maybe like a spiked lemonade or something. Something not strong!

Re: Married at Atlantica this summer??! New Questions!
Hey Guys!! I just went to the Atlantica for the Valentines dinner. We LOVED it!! We did not secure anything yet but we really think this is it. Our only concern are the portions. The dinner we had was delicious but small. We were hoping this is just the way it is for the Vday dinner. Has anyone decided on the menu? We were given prices but we may want to add some things. Could anyone give any 'affordable' suggetions?

hmm, i'm not sure. we chose the first menu and my dad sorta added a bunch of things so it turned out to be more expensive than the next menu up. i'm sorry, i don't have any suggestions :o( i just know that trying to do some extras a la carte makes it more expensive than the packages that i had, so they suggested to upgrade the menu. however, i've heard that the cocktail hour is constant food so i wouldn't worry too much about people leaving hungry. and the meal was amazing. i've never heard anyone complain about it. i even contacted a former bride on LIW...i think her name is carolinebr and she took the time to write to me and share her (amazing) experience with Atlantica. i'm sorry i'm not much more help

Re: Married at Atlantica this summer??! New Questions!
Hi! Sorry I am always so late to post, I wish I would get an email update whenever something was posted to this forum. So anyways here are my vendors -
Karen Lenahan for flowers Sound Image for band (Faze 4) Video by Rock Melon Photographer is Belathee Limos is also Camelot Limo Guest Transportation is Hampton Jitney Guests are staying at Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Best Western in Riverhead (we are spending our wedding night at the Hilton as well) Makeup is Kimara Ahnert Just got a hair guy named Ilya from Bergdorf
So our rehearsal dinner is at Trumpets at the Gate, it's so nice! We wanted Dockers but it was extremely expensive in comparison. I loved Claire Bean's work but we had a hard time reaching her.
What Hank Lane band did you book? We wanted this band L'Evation but I couldn't get any references so I was a bit nervous, although I heard most Hank Lane bands are great.
Where are you all telling your guests to stay? I blocked off hotel rooms but some people want to stay at the beach, it's just so expensive!
As far as announcing BP and all that, I hadn't really thought about it. Lately I have been to weddings where they just announce the married couple and I prefer that because I get all embarassed dancing my way in when I am a bridesmaid. But maybe other bridesmaids like it?
Also I am going to make my own petal cones for tossing, unless I get really lazy hahaha. But I really do want to make my own.
Any good ideas for out of town bags? It's crazy how time is flying!!! Just 4 short months for some of us. And the fall weddings will be here in no time :)

Oh one thing to watch for with the colorful drinks. Someone I know went to a wedding at Atlantica where the signature cocktail was blue and it gave everyone blue lips!

had a friend get married at atlantica a few years ago and it's gorgeous~ perfect beachfront venue her wedding color was blue and it went really well with the whole venue. she had floating ivory roses in a lotus bowl with blue glass at the bottom - was really elegant and modern
