How many of you attended your cocktail hour? Did you feel it took away from your grand entrance during the reception? I want to attend some part of the cocktail hour but don't want it to take away from the grand entrance during the reception!

FH and I agreed we both want to attend cocktail hour. We didn't want to miss the kick off to the party and it will give us time to greet guests, so we will have to do less of that during the reception.

THIS! Let's be honest, the best food at a wedding is at the cocktail hour! LOL! I don't want to miss it, and I def don't think it'll take away from the grand entrance. I've been to plenty of weddings when the bride and groom were at the CH and it didn't take away from anything.

Attending Cocktail Hour?????
Originally I wanted to go to cocktail hour for the yummy food. But the owner of my venue said they bring the same food up to the bridal suite and made a point that we won't be able to eat if we do go to cocktail hour because everyone will be coming up to us.

Our BM also recommended not going to cocktail hour. She told us that you think will be eating but before you know it, everyone is talking to you and then cocktail hour is over. Our venue provides all the dishes in our bridal suite so we will just stay up there eating.

We get our own cocktail hour food and our own bartender so I don't think we are attending ours, maybe for a few minutes to peek.

We will be arriving about 2 hours prior. We flowerfield provides food for you and then they provide all the cocktail hour food in the bridal suite when it starts. We arranged for a hospitality hour to have the food from cocktail hour come in along with a bartender in one of their suites at 6 so everyone can go enjoy cocktail hour at 7 and not worry about missing out. We have about 30 people between our immediate family and bridal party that will enjoy the hospitality hour so yes we will be attending ours! :)

FH and I want to attend as much of our CH as possible. It will probably be the only time other than breakfast that we get to eat, and the food is great! I don't think it will take away from anything. Besides we are having our wedding party and parents enter to music from different movies, like Oh Yeah by Yelo from Ferris Bueller's Day Off for our MOH and Bestman, it will still be a grand entrance and fun. Yes, we are geeks.

We will be going to ours. We are going to have 175+ people so we want to have the extra time to greet everyone & thank them for coming.

We had every intention of attending cocktail hour, BUT by the time my dress was bustled, Laura from AMDA got a spill out of my dress and we saw the ballroom and made some adjustments we ended up only spending about 15 minutes at the actual CH. I definitely recommend going to CH, but sometimes even the best laid plans don't work out. We really wished we got to taste everything (or at least see it). The 15 minutes we were there we were bombarded!
