Attention brides having afternoon receptions..what are you doing afterwards?
My reception is supposed to end at 5:30pm but we would love to do something afterwards with out wedding party but we are not sure of what.
Anyone else having or had an afternoon reception and have ideas?

Alot of girls have after parties. But we didnt. We went home- opened the gifts and relaxed. I had been on the go from 5:30 in the morning and our flight the next morning was at 6 am. So we just had a wonderful wedding night together!

We are staying at a hotel with some of our family near our reception. The hotel has a pool, outdoor fireplace, bar and restaurant...so there is much to do for everyone. I am looking forward to just relaxing with friends and family

We're going to have an after party at the hotel that starts at around 730. This gives people time to relax change and get a 2nd wind.
The hotel will set up a bar, and we'll probably bring in hero's later on. I have a bunch of OOT'ers and I hope all my friends from LI will end up staying there too.

we will prob relax and change then go out to a bar or something but not sure yet
staying at a (fox hollow inn) maybe go to thier resturant

Our reception ends at 6- so having everyone head back to the hotel bar for some time to hang out!

we will be hanging out at the hotel bar and maybe going to a restaurant later if we feel the need to eat later.

My reception ended at 530.. we were exhausted.. we went to the hotel, etc.
I felt bad we didn't plan anything - then 99% of my guests told me that they all went home after to sleep because they were so exhausted/drank too much.
so it worked out perfect. no after party needed.

hmmm good to know. I'm glad that worked for you, we're really not having toooooo many young people who will feel the need to keep going all night, so I'm not positive what we'll be doing. FH really wants to do an afterparty in the hotel but I think we'll need to see how the rsvp's turn out.

We're doing the same thing! Have some snacks and drinks back with my friends/family who traveled. I think it'll mostly be the young people who choose to hang out. I won't really be partying at the reception, so this will be my chance to relax and hang out with who I want to rather than am obliged to say hello to :)

We are all going back to the Hotel I have blocked and are gonna change and hang at the bar!!!!!

Such a good question! I have been wondering the same thing. We're getting married at The Woodlands which is next to the Fox Hollow and there arent many bars or places to go to in that area. We arent staying at a hotel and neither are our guests so I dont know where to go.
I have a feeling I'm going to be exhausted anyway. My day is going to get started at like 6am.

Going back to hotel to party. We're not going on a HM til Oct (cruise), so we have time to hang around with the OOT'ers.

what do you do even if you aren't having an afternoon wedding? Ours is ending at 12am...is there still an after party?
