We need help. We need to play the horah at the wedding to do the circle dance and the lifting of us in the chairs. We are not having a DJ and are not sure where to find the song. Any suggestions would be great.

Re: Attn: Jewish Brides - help with Jewish song
Are you having music? Are you having a band? Any band should be able to play the hora! I just looked at your profile and saw you are having a reggae band - is that the only band? I would think that if they've played weddings, they may know a fun reggae version of it - ask them! If not, I would call some Judaica stores and see if they sell a CD with a nice version of it!

I would call Zion Lion in New Hyde Park and i am sure that they would have it. If not go into Yahoo and type Hora and see what comes up - there must be somewhere to download it from.

The songs they usually play are Hava Negila, SimanTov/ Mazel Tov, Oseh Shalom or even L'Chaim from 'Fiddler on the Roof '

Thank you all. We will look into all of this, I think we were spelling it wrong. So the hora is a dance not a specific song?

The hora is the circle dance where the bride and groom are lifted on the chairs. There is a specific song that they play, however, there are different versions of the song. There is a version that i have heard that has a mixture of many songs and it sounds great. If you call Zion Lion they will definitely help you out - they are very nice!!
