August 2010 Girls

Okay, so besides wedding planning.. I'm currently in my first full year of teaching (overwhelming) and FH and I just bought a house (overwhelming). I am starting to feel like I am going to forget things and I do not have a clear 'To Do' list.

Can any other August 2010 girls share what they have already checked off their lists and/or share a site or someplace I can find a comprehensive lists of things to do. I have a wedding planner but it's more of an organizer than a guide. TIA

Hi!! I'm getting married the day after you! So far I have booked the RH, officiant, have my dress and BM's dresses, booked DJ and photog/video. STD's are mailed. I still have to do flowers and limo. I'm having a real hard time choosing invites. We're DIY our CD favors.

I've been engaged since Oct. of 2008, so I've been doing things slowly. I figure since I have summers off, I can do some small things in July if I have too.

Hi there I am getting married one day after you!

I too am overwhelmed! FH and I are in the process of closing on a house in Feb (OMG) and I have a FT job in the city and am going to grad school at night at NYU. I am afraid I am going to forget things too! The biggest pain in my side right now is save the dates and invitations! We also have to do limos and ceremony music (I think I know someone for this). I have been doing some little things here and there when I see great sales!

We have done:

*RH
*Church
*started picking our readings for ceremony
*Meetings with Priest
*Florist
*DJ
*Ordered my dress
*Bought my shoes
*BM have almost all ordered their dresses
*Bought flip flops for the cute basket thingy for the women guests(great sale!)
*Bought starfish to make the place cards
*Took E-pics (now to get save the dates!)
*Bought flower girl dresses
*bought BM day of jewelery (another great sale!)


Probably did a few other little things I am forgetting. The invitations and save the dates are making me nervous though! Yikes! So much to do!!!

I am sure whatever you have done is on track. People say I am ahead of the game?

I have :
- booked the RH
- booked the photographer
-booked the DJ
- bought the dress
- booked the florist ( even though it is a relative so doesn't really count).

I have booked:

Venue
Church
Limo
DJ
Photographer
Hotel Block
Day after Brunch

And I ordered my dress.

I plan on booking the florist within the next month or so. I've also narrowed down the BM dresses and just have to find a time to go in with a few of them to see how they look on the girls. Not doing STDs but currently obsessing about invitations and whether to attempt DIY.

I'm August 8th and so far I have done:

Reception Hall
Officiant
Ceremony Music
Dj
Limos
Photographer
Ordered my dress
99% sure I picked out BM dresses
Picked my invite person (but still have to design invites and order)
Picked hotel block (just have to stop in and sign contract)

Next on the list: Save the dates!!! I want to order them in the next week or 2.

I also still need to find a videographer and florist...


I feel so behind and overwhelmed for sometimes :( but then I take a deep breath and tell myself we still have 8 months!
