I am clueless when it comes to travel. How do I find out the best locations to travel to in august -- I guess weather-wise mostly ... : ) like whats 'hurricane season' and where exactly and like its really winter in Australia?!

We are going to Aruba. They get very few hurricanes. And at least if the weather is bad there are casinos!

We are going to Sandals Antigua- Sandals is one of the few places that has hurricane guarantees.

We're getting married August 11 and leave for Italy the next day.

We went to Hawaii and northern California in August, and we had great weather. It is winter in the southern hemisphere in August; hurricane season is generally April through October; however, we're going to the US and British Virgin Islands in June/early July & are just hoping for the best! :)

We're going on our honeymoon on the 13 of Aug and we're risking it with Mexico..we really wanted AI and Aruba didn't have many.
Winter in Australia is when its summer here.
If you don't mind flying far, Egypt is pretty much a gaurantee with weather.

We are going to Couples in Jamaica and then to Disney and just hoping for the best! We insured the trip with cancel for any reason insurance so if it looks like there will be bad weather we can cancel and book something else.

I know St Lucia is out of the hurricaine belt too-much more expesnive though. We are going to DR-weather will be hit or miss but we're going with it. When we went to Cancun in June last year before hurricaine season, it rained EVERY DAY!
But we still had a great time because the hotel and staff were SO AWESOME that it was like 'pft, its raining. Lets go sit in the hot tub in our room and get knockered'
A major tip is book a nice hotel because if the weather *****, you can still have a great time.

We're getting married in July but honeymoon possibly for August? We don't know where to go yet. But leaning toward Cancun Mexico or Hawaii. Or maybe somewhere closer to home like a bed and breakfast in Mantauk.

the only islands NOT in the hurricane belt during june to november are the 'ABC' islands..which are aruba bonaire and curacao.. aruba being the island with the most to do..the other two are very laid back.. we went to portugal..if youre looking tropical AND cultural..you will LOVE it there...it was gorgeous..if you decide to look into it, FM me for some details..we stayed for 2 1/2 weeks and traveled the whole southern part of the country!! good luck!!

Fh and I are looking into St. Lucia and Antigua and Bahamas for our Honeymoon. I heard that Dominican Republic is good even in Hurricane season. (knock on wood) The island tends to not get hit that much by hurricanes. I was thinking of mexico but I am worried about it being it too hot. I was there in may of last year and it was HOT!!

we are going to vegas which will be SUPER HOT but is a dry heat and really not so bad. its humidity thats a killer, a\nd vegas has none. then we're going to california and drive up the coast.
