Because I am absolutely neurotic... I looked on the calendar ALL THE WAY TO 2007 and (thanks to the regularity of BC) I will be half way through my visit from Aunt Flo on my wedding day!!! So, needless to say, I'm not the happiest right now!!
Since its virtually impossible to get it a week earlier... do you girls think I should 'keep the visit' for its scheduled time or altar it so she will be visiting during the honeymoon?
Sorry to be so personal... but its a dilemma I think you girls will understand!!

I would talk to your doctor and see if you can switch to Seasonale (where Aunt Flo only comes 4 times/year). Then you won't have to worry about it. Or ask your doctor if you can skip the week of sugar pills and start a new pack right away so you don't have to deal at all.

If your on BC you can alter and have it the week before. Just stop taking them when you normally would. Otherwise you could start the next batch and wait until after the HM

don't feel too bad about being neurotic. I took this into consideration when picking our wedding date! at this point i'm not sure which direction you should go in, i think that's really a personal preference. obviously you want your wedding day to be uninterupted, however if you are done by the time of you HM that might be better too. good luck!

Well, you are NOT neurotic!! I did the same AND I talked to my doctor about it. I take ortho trycycline Lo and he said that anything with the word 'tri' in it means that you cant 'move' your period by taking it at different times during the month prior.
So instead he changed me to jasmin and I am going to try to move my period with the pill. If it dosent work, then I will take the pill straigh through for that month, skipping the placebo pills, and that will make you miss your period for the month

I wouldnt mess with mother nature, take it from me... I was on ortho evra, so I figured I would just put another patch on and I will skip a period... well the period came 1 week late and lasted for almost 3 weeks ( needless to say I had it on my wedding day anyways)...

When I go on a cruise and I see that Aunt Flo should be arriving, I simply take a new packet when I'm supposed to 'have a break'

You have so much time, talk to you doctor so if you need to switch pills you can. I was SO happy to skip 'placebo' pills and move period up a week---no probs for wedding or honeymoon. So worth it.... You definitely have plenty of time to work this out.

I take seasonale, and it is just as effective as the regular pill if you take it correctly, and I have NEVER has breakthrough bleeding. I have been on it for a year and its the best thing ever! Of course when I counted to my wedding date, I was getting my period the week of the wedding, so I asked my Dr. about it, and she said to stop taking the pills the week before they would normally end, and I will get my period the week before the wedding. And then not again for another 3 MONTHS!

You really don't need to worry about this yet. Even though you're regular, things can happen between now and then that could push you up or back a few days and you shouldn't be stressing about this yet. I'm very regular too and I'm in the same predicament , but I'm getting married in less than 6 months. I'm not going to think about it for another month or so and then I'll probably just go on the pill and tweak it until I push my period back until the middle of the month instead of the end, which is when my wedding is. We have to take PMS into consideration too. ALthough I don't want my period for my wedding, I also don't want to be bloated with zits, which always happens to me the week before I get it......... I would alter it if I were you, but not until at least next year.

I agree -- you are not neurotic -- I wish I had thought of this earlier. I also use a 'tri' BC and didn't know that I couldn't move it until I spoke to my doctor about 2 months before my wedding. She told me that had I planned earlier I could have adjusted things. So #1: talk to your doctor.
Worst case -- you could end up with your period on your wedding day like I did. Big deal. I had to 'change' one time during the reception. It wasn't that bad -- my MOH is like a sister and she made me feel totally at ease.
I'm glad I didn't have it on my honeymoon though!

I would talk to your GYN, she might be able to help you with that. Don't mess w/ your pills if you are on them, I did that and I regretted it!

Regardless of anything talk to your Dr. You are talking about messing with hormones and that's not something to do lightly. Def do this early in case you need the time and, if you can, test your method out- unless it'll throw you off before your big day.
As long as you are toward the end of the cycle I'd perfer to get it during the wedding time...

The pack you are on before your wedding i would skip pills 15-21 and take the sugar pills 22-28 then start a new pack.. skipping pills 15-21 will cause a visit then when you start your new pack you will be free and clear... that is how you can force it a week earlier.. you can do that any time between now and then to put your schedule off by a week.. (earlier) if you wanted.. i recently did this, by accident.. if you skip 3 days in a week you are supposed to throw out the pack and start the next pack the sunday after a visit... i acutually think i put me on a schedule i dont want to be on.. i should check that out.. hummm...
