Apparently the average Long Island wedding costs $57,343!
My budget is in the $25,000 range (not including honeymoon and engagement ring), but I guess that’s nothing!

Yea that is def the average lol it's crazy how much some things are. I originally thought that the wedding would cost 30,000..... Now it's more like 50,000...... Kinda makes me nauseous when I write it down lol

It looks like they included engagement ring. That alone takes off almost $6000. I have to say to me weddings have gone down pricewise....now with the internet people shop around,theres more competition now, you can bargin with people. also with pictures being digital that made the price MUCH less then before digital.

It's so hard to stomach how much *every*little*thing* adds up! I haven't totaled, we only have 3months to go but have been engaged for 2 years and 2 months already...which only means, more time to buy stuff! The wedding bands, honeymoon, photo/video, dress, venue...I'd bet we're north of 40k. Ouch.

It makes me want to throw up when I think about the amount of money we'll be spending. We originally budgeted $30K which has since inflated to almost $40K since we booked the venue and realized how expensive everything really is. This includes our honeymoon but not my engagement ring. Is it too late to elope? ;P
My whole goal from day 1 was to stay under 50K since we're paying for 85% of it by ourselves. I think we're juuuuuust under that mark but that doesnt include the honeymoon. It's definitely sickening to spend so much on ONE day but it's the most important day ever. (hopefully) NO regrets about what we spent.

Haha Yeah money-wise eloping is pretty tempting!
Including my engagement ring and honeymoon we are most likely closer to (or maybe even over) $30,000. We’ve panicked about money a few times already, but the save the dates are out so there’s so stopping us now!

That's a good point. It is much easier now to shop around and at least try to keep the costs down. I think DIY wedding projects are becoming more popular too, which definitely helps.

Me too!! I was originally going for $15k bc I was going with all inclusive but I didn't think I was going to be that far over 100 guests! Now I'm going for $20k-$25k

Oh geez thats so expensive!! Our budget is $17,000 and I am hoping we can do everything within that price!... The most we would go is $20,000.
(but of course the price does not include engagement ring or honeymoon)

we are spending $14,500 for everything. I didn't count my engagement ring in that, but all our vendors & venue, invitations, wedding bands, dress, tux, honeymoon...etc are all included. We refuse to empty all our savings into this wedding. It can be a magical day no matter what you spend as long as the love is there, We're very happy.

i didnt spend anywhere near that! and i loved my wedding and i dont feel that i skimped on anything. just made wise choices!

FH and I spent over the $50 K mark (not including honeymoon/engagement ring), and its taken its toll on us. We initially wanted to spend no more than $50 K, but it couldn't be avoided with the extra ppl that had to be invited, which meant more favors, more centerpieces, etc. Add the extra expense of us buying a house, and I noticed FH getting a bit more agitated with me whenever money is discussed, especially when it involves the wedding. We never argue, but recently I feel like he's holding a lot back and is just waiting to explode. :/ But once this whole wedding takes place, he'll be back to his cheerful old self is all I can tell him. lol

holy jesus- if i factor in my ring and honeymoon we are at like 70K. Thank god, we only had to pay for the venue and add 5K for some other little things or I would have literally died.

I thought for sure I would be under $35k however, that's not including my engagement ring. I also thought I would have 150 ppl at my wedding. And I booked at one of my favorite venues. Now we are having about 250 ppl and we are near 50k. But I feel like I am getting a lot for what I am paying... I have been coming slightly under at each vendor. Every bit counts!

That's impressive! It is definitely possible to have a beautiful day with any budget
