Then white gold will be fine! Maybe just comparison shop, and consider the diamond qiality & such. I know alot of FHs may have a hard time making another big expense, espeially after buying the e-ring, but it is a ring you will wear everyday.

hmmm my FH is an electrician and keeps telling me he wont wear his ring too work EVER just to bug me. maybe i'll suggest the tatoo thing to my sweetie! thanks for the idea guys!![]()

hearzbells - i know exaclty what he's doing....tommybride does it all the time to be all tough in front of other men. but on his own, he's so sweet!

Well my FH has around 7 tats.. I have one on my upper arm.. which I wear in memory of 9/11. It won't show up on my photos in my wedding, im traditional in that way, but i refuse to put make up on it and cover it up.
Makes dress shopping fun...
I figured I'd put small flower on my tattoo for every year we're married.. make it an anniversary thing..![]()
My dad was a Navy Mechanic.. tattoo ring sounds REALLY like a good idea.. he literally tore his hand open with a saw when some idiot started to play with a strobe light.

Thats very cool. I like the flower idea! FH has 4 tattoos, 3 of which I drew for him... I have 13, 11 of which I drew.
Mine will be showing for the wedding, but only the reception.... my church will not allow us on the altar if the tats are showing![]()
so I had to buy a jacket.

My tattoos will be showing for the wedding too.. I have big ones on both of my shoulders although they will be mostly covered by my hair. FH's won't show (except for the ones on his hands) because of the long sleeves and pants.. when he is shirtless in shorts he looks like a giant inkblot ![]()
We just have plain white gold bands. They were about $175 each. The one he WANTS is about $800 but we don't have that kind of money for a ring right now. Maybe for our 1st anniversary I will get it for him.![]()

definately depends on size, color, clarity of the stones..
IMO you shouldnt get the diamonds that go ALLL the way around... you really cant size the ring if your finger gets bigger(are you planning on having kids???) or smaller(losing alot of weight???)..

jagrawal7 - I don't think that is too much to spend, assuming its not putting you into debt. This is something you will wear every day for the rest of your life, you should love it!

Check out Fortunoffs. I got a really beautiful platinum band with diamonds on the top only for a very reasonable price. The carat weight of the diamonds is not high, but it has a great sparkle and looks perfect next to my round solitaire!

I like my tattoo.. but I just can't imagine our very proper/casual wedding with my very black and dark dragon tattoo in a pretty green/blue color coming off so well.
I put it there because I can wear short sleeves and you'd never see it (work).
I always love how people assume I'm musch too nice and normal to have *gasp* a tattoo. They think my FH is even geeker and more uptight than I am!!!

i bought my rings yesterday at the karat shop in huntington. plain 3mm platinum band for under $300. diamond band- 8 diamonds, .65 tw, shared pront setting & white gold (much less expensive) for under $700.
i thought those prices were very reasonable & i love the bands!!!

I also agree that you should LOVE your ring. To put it in perspective, think about how much you're spending on the wedding, that will only last a few hours (dress, flowers, etc.). The ring is a tangible symbol of your marriage that will be with you every day. To me, it's worth more than flowers, wedding favors or an extra venetian hour.

My wedding band was custom made since I have an antique looking engagment ring. The band is white gold with 6 diamonds across (on top of eachother, no channel setting) and they are 12 points each. It was $1500, but I was able to get him down to $1200 since he is a friend of the family. FH did not get his, but the one he is looking at is $250.
