Hi Brides! Just curious... approximately how long post-wedding did you send out your thank-you cards??? I am just getting to mine now (4 months later!) and hope my guests are not all totally insulted!

Re: average thank-you card response time
I think 4 months is fine, I got mine out within about 3 months, but I wasn't working at the time so I had the time to do them. I just got one from a friends wedding from almost 6 months ago, I think 4-6 months is ok.

Re: average thank-you card response time
I just finished sending out my side last week, which was around 5 months. Hey, I got knocked up so i'm tired at night!
DH hasn't started his and it's not looking good for him to be done by the 6 month mark but that's his problem. I told him if he bought me this purse I wanted, I'd do them for him but the purse is $300 and he only has 35 notes to do. He thinks $9 per note is a little steep. I do write good notes so I think they're WELL worth it.

I think you have 1 year to send out. My sister took a long time - like 8 months.

Re: average thank-you card response time
I'm in the middle of mine and hope to have them out by the end of the week. My goal was to get them done within 3 months. I've had some I've received as soon as 3 weeks after a wedding and some I got 6 months later.

I think at least 6 months is suitable. If you are sending pictures with the thank you card then you have to wait for your photographer's pictures as well. The most important thing is that you send them.

hmm.. I think my cousins usually send them out 6-8 months. I will probably do them a month letter since I will still be on summer vacation lol once the school year is here, i get nothing done.
I don't think anyone should be insulted!!

Re: average thank-you card response time
Etiquette now dictates a thank you note should be sent within three months of the wedding.
I hope to get mine out much sooner than that. I know my guests will be giving generous gifts and in some cases travelling quite a bit - I want to make sure that they know I appreciate it.
I haven't received a thank you from a wedding I attended last November, and I AM insulted. I feel that if the couple can sign my check within a week of the wedding, they can write out a quick card.
