Okay so one of my friends had a baby last night. Shes so beautiful!!
Anyways, FH and I were talking and he said when we have kids that he doesnt want to know what we are having. I want to know.........
What about you ladies? Do you want to know if your having a boy or a girl OR would you just rather be suprised?

Re: Baby fever........
I always thought I wanted to know because I'm a control freak, but as it becomes closer and closer to becoming a reality, I realize that having it be a surprise would be so nice. I'm not into the whole blue if it's a boy and pink if it's a girl thing, so buying things isn't a factor for me. God I can't wait.
I don't want any children. If I had to decide though I would want to know so I could decorate and register appropriately.

I feel the same exact way. I've always wanted to know b/c I am such a control freak. FH even told me that he would tell the doctor to tell me it was the opposite gender to teach me a lesson! :( But I think I'd like to be surprised.

With my first son Lucas, we didn't find out, but a few family members wanted to know, so the doctor told them. With my 2nd Blake, we found out, this was we could shop for blue

I found out with all of mine - 3 boys. At this point, if I had more, I'd have to know, so I could get over the shock if it turned out to be agirl!

Re: Baby fever........
I didn't find out with either of mine. With the first... I just liked the idea of them saying 'It's a Boy!' or 'It's a Girl!' With my 2nd son my motivations were different. I noticed that the first time, not knowing what I was having helped me through labor to some degree. I was really eager to find out if I had a son or a daughter and it gave me a little extra impetus!
I also feel like it kind of takes something away when you are so well thought out and so well planned. My girlfriend had a baby last month and we knew the sex, the due date, the name... it was just like... 'Oh... she finally had her?' When my other friend had her baby over the summer it was a lot more exciting 'OMG! What is it? Boy? Girl? What did she name her?' I can't really explain it... it was just a little extra special.
Of course this is only a temporary extra high... because babies - whether you KNOW what they are or not - are always a blessing.. and they surprise you all the time!
And the neutral nursery stuff is actually GREAT... both of my sons had gorgeous nurseries that we enhanced to make more boyish as they grew older. If I had known I was having a boy I likely would have gone over the top with the blue and trucks and whatever. The nursery that they had was perfect... subdued, relaxing...
And for my friend who has 3 - she never once had to change the basic design of her nursery even though she went girl/boy/girl!!!

I'm on team green. I wouldn't want to know before the baby comes. And actaully in terms of preparing for baby it is easier when you have the next one. If you have your first and you know its a boy everyone goes out and buys boy stuff. If your second is a girl you have to go buy all new stuff. If you get unisex stuff for the first baby it can be used for all babies when they come. Also sonograms can be wrong. A boy is always a boy but a girl can sometimes turn out to be a boy . So yeah I want a surprise

I think I'll want to know. My friend and her husband knew and didn't tell anyone--that I could never do. She said knowing was great b/c it allowed her to bond with the baby while pregnant a little differently.
We've got time to decide. Haha. Although, it's FH that's got the baby fever. We just found out 2 of his friends are expecting and suddenly there's a lot of 'When we have a baby....' comments coming out of his mouth. He even pointed out a cute baby carrier in the target circular on Sunday. LOL

Not totally true. My friend was told she was having a boy at say 18 weeks then they told her it was a girl! Don't know what they saw at the first sonogram but she has an adorable little girl!
Personally, I want to know. If I didn't find out before hand there really wouldn't even be anticipation for me in the delivery room. I'd find out and it would be another detail after the 9 month build up. I'd enjoy knowing for however many months (while pg) that it was a girl or a boy.
