a friend of mine got the greatest gift had her baby shower from her sister....she made a 'scrapbook' type alphabet book for the future baby. It was a photo album and each letter had pictures of things that started with that letter....she used pics of other family members when their names started with that letter...G grandma... B ...the babys soon to be uncle bill..or pics of their friends and family members with items that started with that letter... Like Daddy holding a football on the F page. Then she left space for the new mom to add pics of her own that will include the new baby! It is such a great gift that can be a book to learn from then a treasured keepsake!
Let's see for my MOH I did instead of a wishing well I did a wishing toy box. I wrote on the invite that everyone needed to bring a toy or a book for the wishing toy box.
Not sure if you sent out invites yet...But I did invites once where we got cheap little baby bottles and printed out the invite and rolled it up and put it in the bottle. Put a little blue and pink ribbon on the top of the bottle... and mailed them out in a box. It was super cute... Had a message in a bottle type of feel. A lot of people brought the bottles to the shower too so she was set on bottles for a LONG time.
I love it when you ask everyone to bring their favorite book to build a library for the baby. Also, when you give each guest a little candle to light and say a prayer when the baby is born.
I did a 'build a library' theme when we had my friends shower a couple of years ago. We put on the invitation that everyone should bring their favorite childhood storybook and write a note in the front of the book for the baby.
