so I have 11 bmaids. I wanted to go to Vegas or New Orleans for my bachelorette party and only 2 of them said they could afford to go.
They want to do something for me in NYC, but that's not what I want to do b/c I live here and it's not like special for me.
what are you guys doing for yours (if you know) and how much is/was it??

Re: bach party woes
i originally wanted to go to LA.. but my one friend is having a baby soon and my sis in law didnt want to go away for more then a night or so cause of my nephew.. and i figured it would be easier and everyone could come if we do AC,, :)
there are a lot of fun places to go in driving distance.. Boston was a blast when i went for my friends and also Ocean city maryland was great .. that place is insane .. had the best time and it was soo cheap!

Well I also would have liked to go to Vegas ( I have already been their twice), But my BM could not afford it , which is complete understandable. It can very expensive their, if you offer to pay your share and you can go with the 2 girls who can afford I would do that. Then have something here in NYC. I went to keen steakhouse in the city which was amazing, then we went to club and danced!

Re: bach party woes
we are going on a cruise to the bahamas. i only have one MOH and thats it- i had asked her about it a long time ago and she was down. we invited about 6 other girls and now theres a total of 5 of us going. its not cheap but they all were willing to pay. it probably helped that they didnt have to pay for BM dresses shoes, my shower, etc. but if i were in your situation, i'd do a spa and beach day in the hamptons. then you'd be doing something really special even tho ur not leaving the island.

Going to Vegas! 528pp for flight and 4 night stay at hotel. I dont think that was such a bad gig...especially because its in the dead of summer. Not all my BMs are going...actually.... only 4 of them are, and I have 8, but some of my other friends that arent in the bachelorette party ARE going. I really wanted to go to vegas, because FH and I plan on startin a family not too long after we are married, and I know ill never get to do something like this again. If you really wanna go, make it work or else you will regret it. A week or 2 befofre the wedding I am going to do a low key night in the city and the whole bridal party will come. 2 bachelorette parties for me! WOO!
ETA: I paid for myself!
LOL - if people wanted to pay $528/pp I wouldn't have posted! No one can afford Vegas!
And NYC is where I live so it's not what I want to do!

Well, I grew up in the Hamptons so that isn't really a special thing for me either! I wanted to go somewhere I have never been, you know??

Re: bach party woes
I hear ya. My MOH and 2 BM's are taking me to Vegas for Halloween weekend. But I have 3 girls who cant go so we will prob do something closer and low key for them.
What about an all-out weekend in AC? Like stay at the Borgata and do a spa weekend. Thats at least less money for them.. And whoever can't make it, oh well. These things get expensive for everyone.

Re: bach party woes
I'm going to New Orleans. Honestly, it was what I really wanted to do. Only four of my seven BMs can go. So the four of us are going. We're going to go out in the city another night, but nothing big.
I'm paying for myself and my BMs are paying for themselves. We're staying at a friend's house when we get there, so that's defraying some of the cost. It's just something I really wanted to do, and my BMs understood that. They also wanted to go too. If only two had said yes...I'm not sure what I would have done. I was lucky that they were really cool about it.
Maybe try to find something closer? Foxwoods or AC or something?

Ocean City Maryland is definitly the place to go. Check out Seacrets. there are like 17 bars inside this 1 bar. There are tables and chairs in the water. And so many different things to see. All types of music etc. It is brilliant fun we went last labor weekend and i am planning on going again for Labor for my B-Party. Cant wait. Check out the Condos in the Carousel resort. A 3 bed last year cost us about $1,500 for 3 night. They sleep 8 people. the beaches there are gorgeous too.

I wanted to go to New Orleans, too. But I know my BP wont be up for it,...and I dont blame them. They all have kids etc.
Fire Island is a blast...went there last year for my friend's bachelorette party. But it's not cheap at all. You can probably go to New Orleans for the same price.

Re: bach party woes
Sorry to crash.... but i went to ocean city , MD for mine... the drive isnt bad and its a really fun town! My girls spent about $250 each on the hotel for the weekend (3 nights- you could get cheaper or more expensive) and then whatever food/bars/clubs we went to... everyone had a great time!

Re: bach party woes
I went to school in New Orleans and have been back about ten times, for two bachelorettes--- a trip can be very inexpensive!
I can recommend staying at a hotel outside of the Quarter----the last time I went was right before Jazzfest and we got rooms for $99 a night at the Marriott Courtyard and it was convenient to everything.
Lots of flights are cheap to New Orleans too--
If I didn't have a free home for my bachelorette in the Hamptons, mine would be in NO!
If you want more info, FM me and we can talk offline (or i can talk to your MOH)!
I'm a huge advocate of NO if you didn't notice

You could also try booking it through a package deal. A few friends and I went down to jazzfest one year and it was like $350 for four nights and a hotel right outside (like literally across the street) from the Quarter

Re: bach party woes
I have no idea what I am doing...I am guessing it will either be in NYC or AC. My girls (specifically FSIL) are scheming - so I haven't a clue! I told them that I didn't want to go anywhere that we had to fly to - we are all spending a ton of money with the wedding coming up, so I didn't feel that we should be spending any additional $ going somewhere else - ie Vegas (although, it would have be SO fun)

Before I knew people were down for Vegas, I was plannin on AC. Harrahs is really nice, they have a great 21 and over pool that feels like your at a tropical getaway. If you know any frequent AC go-ers they might be able to get you a good deal on a room. OR just squeeze a bunch of girls into one room and split costs.!! hehe I would so not be above bringing an air mattress! Even if the room is 400 a night thats only 100pp for 4 girls per room... not too shabby and im sure you can get a better deal than that!

I had similar issues but I convinced everyone to go to PR. However, between airfare, rooms and spending money I do think everyone spent about $1000 - trips get expensive fast! We did stay for 6 days though bc we got one night free. And I did pay for myself. I am also going to do a NY Bach party bc only a few girls could go (my whole bridal party didnt come).

Re: bach party woes
I'm going through the same exact thing and I feel your pain! I have 7 girls but I invited about 19 and only my sisters and sister in law are going. I told these girls OVER a year ago I wanted to go away and it's not until August so that's 2 years to save up (put like $20 in the bank each week). Well then one got engaged and then another one and then another one and now no one can afford to go. I thought about this and they wanted me to change it so everyone could go OR they wanted me to have a 2nd one. I kindly told them that's not what I wanted and that we're going to go away for it. My cousin actually SCREAMED at me about it more then once (that's a different story). I understand people can't go but think about it? Those 2 people that can go...would you still have a blast? Are you ever going to do this again? My sister always says that people should decline a bridal party if they can't afford to do EVERYTHING the bride wants to do and while I couldn't imagine getting married without these girls at my side, I think it's true. I feel your pain and TRUST me it s*cks but I'm going with my sisters and FSIL (we're SUPER close) and I'm going to have the time of my life and then everyone else is just going to have to live with me being there for them but them not being there for me.
FM me if you want to talk more since we're going through the same thing.
