Bachelorette party cost

Original post by zoe282

Ok,

It might be personal and you don't have to answer but I was curious how much people are paying to go out for your bachelorette party...I am trying very hard to be concious about not doing too much but it seems that no matter what it gets out of hand. lol I was hoping that if other girls are in the same boat I will feel better. Friday night the girls are coming over and we are having wine and ordering in like pizza...so that's very inexpensvie...Saturday we are taking a pole dancing class, and then in the evening taking a limo to the city having dinner, going to a bar and then going to a club...a party planning company is doing it so for everyhting including the day stuff...all alcohol, food, tips, transportation and a personal male model usher to take picturs and lead a through the night is about $350 pp for 14 of us....what are your thoughts? I went away for a friends bachelorette party and with everything it was much more then that...but i was just curious....

See i wanted everyone to be on it all. My friends in the city who aren't taking the limo are not paying for that part. They are meeting and not doing the deal. The reason i liked the company was because it's all taken care of. I wanted everyone to have a worry free night....no one has to spend a dime that night or worry about if they want another drink, or what to eat. I am the first person to be cheap trust me...but I guess it's teh same way to view all inclusive vacations...I love them i'd rather pay more upfront then have to worry about it along the way. I guess that's me though. I'm very happy with the response. I have all my BM's coming along with my mom and some other friends...hopefully they don't think I am nuts. I didn't plan it though so if they do think i'm nuts they can blame my sister!

Well, if they do not have a problem with that cost than whats the problem. I knew some of my girls couldn't afford that, some have families and I did not want to put them in a position that they had to say no, or even make the choice. But if your girls are okay, then go for it

Re: Bachelorette party cost

But would you have 3 drinks all night even starting at dinner? it's one thing to go out at 11 and have 3 drinks before 2...but starting at 8 and going till 2 I would certainly have more. I know I could have just 2 at dinner alone before even going to the bar and then to the club.....even if people spread it out and had 2 at dinner, 2 at the bar and 2 at the club youd almost reach that amount. I guess me and my friends are just big drinkers...lol

But i guess thats me and my friensd...well most of my friensd...for most they will drink more then the $75 for others maybe not...

sometimes i have no drinks at all and i mean not one during dinner or at a club, other times 2 or 3 maybe. BUt thats me, idont drink alot. If I HAD to pay $75 for an all inclusive thing for me it wouldnt be worth it bc its more than i would spend. My other friends can drink more but i dont. Sometimes i do decide to get drunk but i have 5 and im trashed lol

I will buy drinks for others so it can come out to that much and even more for drinks in one night for me, but not on a pp basis.

If your girls are ok with the price then that is what matters. I know ive gotten criticized ALOT on this board for going away for my BP, but as far as costs for the trip for the girls its $300 or under for some and free for one. $340 to go into the city can be pricey for just going to the city, i wonder if it would be less if you did the same things on your own. Limo would be about $50pp lets say, dinner lets say another $50pp then entrance to marquee is $20-25 then drinks

how many of you will there be? for that you might even be able to get a table

We need a big limo we are getting a 20 passenger escalade cause we don't fit in the 14 passenger...so that would be at least $80 pp...at least....

I guess it is expensive for what it is, but from what I am hearing people like the idea that everything is taken care of, every $1 to the bar tender, the limo tip, the waiter tip, the food, the transportation and the drinks the pictures the games the bachelorette outfit, gift bags, roses...plus that includes the pole dancing class during the day. I guess i just talked myself back into the benefits....going away for $300 is just the start...you have to figure breakfast lunch and dinner...or maybe lunch and dinner since it will probably be late nights..lol FH went to Vegas for a bachelor party and stayed 2 nights and it almost cost him $1000 with food drink hotel and air...He's going away to Vegas for his so i think my girls got off good! lol

Re: Bachelorette party cost

I think $350 pp is a bit high... but you are getting a lot included. The last bach. party I went to- the MOH sent out an email to all the girls that were confirmed to go and gave us and 'option #1- cheaper' and 'option #2- less expensive' and listed out what they would get with each option. We all responded JUST TO HER (didn't CC everyone) and cast our vote. She also kept it quiet who voted for what. We ended up doing the less expensive option (which was really just a difference of an upgraded alchol option). I thought this was a great idea- b/c depending on the group- some people might be comfortable with spending whatever and others might be strapped- but feel pressured if it's a big group situation.

Another option, as you said, is leaving it open if people don't want to do the all inclusive (if they are not drinking/ traveling in the limo) they can pay on their own. And I don't think that's a big deal and would be conciderate to everyone....

Well with this company people don't get to pick and choose. My sister already told everyone the price and everyone is in...I just 2nd guess it. $350 is if you want to do everything including pole dancing. It's around $300 if you aren't pole dancing. To be honest a lot of the girls here thought it was a good deal for everyone. I think people who are in the city forget about transportation. I think that is a huge factor in this cost. Although I think that if there was a hotel involved it would be just as expensive.

Re: Bachelorette party cost

I just look at it like if one of my friends was getting married and I was in the bp. That is $200 on a dress, $50 on shoes, $$$ for bridal shower, plus wedding gift, plus hair and makeup. It is a lot of money and to add $350 for 1 night of partying is just not worth it in my mind. I am a little older than some of the brides on this board and I guess I feel like I already had my hay day and spent way too much money in the past on partying and now my life is different so it is not as important to me anymore.

Like I said a lot of my friends have kids or others are just starting their careers and I did not want to put them on the spot with such a high amount of money to come party with me.

Very true people are all at different places in their lives and want to do different things. I went away to AC for a friends bachelorette party paid a large amount and hated it...said i never wanted to go away for mine and wouldn't make people do it. I think my friends and BP are just happy that we 1aren't going away, 2 aren't sleeping in the city and 3 are happy to wake up in their own beds at night...some people wnat to do a spa...in my experience even the cheapest spa treatment is $100 I wouldn't spend a dime on that...Flying somewhere for the weekend? I would hate that too...with the time difference I would be exhausted! So i guess each of us do what's fun for us...and hope that our friends agree or support our decision. I think my BP has been great in supporting my decisions thus far....(or at least i think so..lol)

well then whats the problem lol if everybody loves it.

well depends, i mean you say your girls got off good, which considering mine are going to vegas are you saying mine didn't? LOL...i think people always put themselves in the situation and dont realize that others are different. My girls go on vacations and thats vacations as in more than 1 a year. Since we've been about 18 they go away a couple times a year on trips with a big group of girls. My moh last year went on about 5 vacations at least i think. She even one day said 'i need to get away' and emailed all us girls to ask who wants to go to florida in a few weeks. I couldnt go bc i just made an RH payment among other things PLUS during the same time me and my MOH paid for another bm to take her to ac for her bday .and paid for the bm's hotel share. They have been on tons of vacations together, and every year look for a vacation to do with all the girls.

Also, i dont ever get mad at ppl, i never yell at my friends for not coming somewhere, or cancelling plans if somebody couldnt come then they didnt have to plain and simple and they know it would've been 100% fine with me. Not only that but i am paying for a suite at the palms for them as part of my gift to them, not many ppl get to stay at a suite in vegas for free so it also is an opportunity for them. INFACT, theres girls who are not part of my bp who are coming bc they said they wanted to come too and obviously no obligations there, they asked if they can come too.

AND i am guessing they dont feel its a burden considering my MOH decided that on top of that to do a local one and to pay for me to go to a spa, she said its her treat and then dinner and drinks. If they felt burdened then it would be like OH H*LL no we are already going to vegas and spending money for that, im not spending anymore. So i was shocked bc of that reason.

YES, i do know we eat while we're there, like i said we have hook ups for 1 day, we'll get tons of comps and for the night comps for drinks too. So they have 2 days of spending money, and if any of my girls spends $1k in 2 days JUST on food and drinks then they have issues ...i know your fh paid 1k but you included hotel which they are not paying, and flights are already paid for.

Sorry but so many posts i read saying 'ugh its terrible to make your girls do this, its rude its messed up and so on. Well some of us ARE going away and we do read this. People always judge and you know what they dont know the situation so how can anybody judge. I know some ppl dont go away alot, but my girls go away a couple times a year, obviously we wouldnt be doing this if it was girls who never went away or once in a while. I missed vegas with all the girls 2 years ago when they went just for fun bc of the wedding, i also missed montreal, florida, and a few other trips bc of the wedding and NOW i can finally go

SO there goes my long A** post for people who judge without knowing, know you all know the FULL story and can see that your situation can be applied to everyone else, just bc its something your girls would not do doesnt mean others dont want to. I would go away for a bp in a heartbeat. I dont judge what others do although its not something i want to do at all.

and i guess it wasn't a problem either bc i am more than content with vegas, but my MOH called me about a week ago and said that the weekend my fh goes away she is treating me and another bm(she is also the moh for her) to a day at the spa on her, and then we'll all go out for dinner and drinks. So that shocked me and was sweet.

Awww that is so nice of your MOH

We are going to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods for the weekend. The hotel is opening this spring and will include 30 restaurants, shops etc so it should be fun. For 4ppl per room it will cost around $200 per person for the weekend. After that it is up to them how much they use for spending money. All my BM are also planning on getting massages, facials etc. at the spa when we go up there.

We were originally going to go to Aruba but the airfare went up and the room we had wasnt big enough for everyone so we opted to stay close this way more people would come away.

I guess everyone is ok with the price because we have about 15 ppl coming so far.

i don't have a BP except my sister and she is planning a night at Borgata for just us sisters. Even with that, it's like $700 for the suite and we are splitting it 4 ways - I refuse to let them pay for me. they can buy me dinner.

For us going to PR for the weekend - my friends were hounding ME about going away, at first i didn't even want a BP with friends, but I love to go away, and would love a real tan for the wedding lol. That said, I left it open to about 7 of my closest friends and whoever can come comes. 6 of them are going and I know it's mostly to celebrate but it's also because they want to go to PR for the weekend! so I don't feel bad because they are choosing to spend money and they know that it's not like i would be mad or upset with them if they couldn't come. I would have gone with 1 other friend if the rest decided not to go.

but every situation is different. I think it's a great excuse to get away with your girls, and i'm looking forward to it big time and hoping everyone gets along and the weather is nice.

I agree, I see that said alot on here too about 'how could you make your BP spend so much money, that is selfish and inconsiderate' People have to understand that it is different for everyone. I am not making my BP go anywhere, it was their choice. They asked me if I would want to go away and I said hell yea because I love getting away especially for a girls weekend. I am not inconveniencing them because they are all into going away.

and i guess it wasn't a problem either bc i am more than content with vegas, but my MOH called me about a week ago and said that the weekend my fh goes away she is treating me and another bm(she is also the moh for her) to a day at the spa on her, and then we'll all go out for dinner and drinks. So that shocked me and was sweet.

Awww that is so nice of your MOH

We are going to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods for the weekend. The hotel is opening this spring and will include 30 restaurants, shops etc so it should be fun. For 4ppl per room it will cost around $200 for the weekend. After that it is up to them how much they use for spending money. All my BM are also planning on getting massages, facials etc. at the spa when we go up there.

We were originally going to go to Aruba but the airfare went up and the room we had wasnt big enough for everyone so we opted to stay close this way more people would come away.

I guess everyone is ok with the price because we have about 15 ppl coming so far.

oooo a new hotel at foxwoods! Sounds fun FH will be excited. How far away from here is it? He loves to gamble!

It is about 3hrs from Staten Island.
