I missed you guys!!! and I missed home but we had a GREAT vacation in Washington DC. We were there for a week and spent the fourth there... we saw the beautiful fireworks on the national mall, spent time with one of Vin's friends from College and we got to spend a night w/ Laura and Mike (Laural2979)-- fresh back from their HM!! We did a bar crawl the night before the fourth with them and it was soooo much fun!!! Thanks so much Laura for inviting us out and showing us a GREAT time in DC-- that was honestly, the highlight of our trip.
Here are some pics for you lovely ladies. I didn't even go online ONCE while away! Amazing!
We relaxed a lot, took our mind off the wedding, spent TIME together and saw so many great things-- we had a wonderful time and it was a lot of fun. We missed Char though and she is happy to have us home. We came home to TONS of RSVP's!
Welcome back! DC is my home town now, so I'm glad you had a good time! We actually got engaged at the Lincoln Memorial!!
All you DC girls out there, we had talked on BHB a few days ago about having a GTG - FM me if you're interested!!

I LOVE DC!! It's the first long weekend trip FH and I took together!! And I agree that the WWII Memorial is beautiful! It's my personal favorite!! Your pics are great! You got some awesome shots of the jewels!! Aren't they unbelievable?!? They make me wanna puke!!

DC was the first trip my FH and I took together 5 years ago It was the best time!!
And we did the fireworks on the Capitol Lawn -- weren't they amazing?? We snuck alcohal with us too!! You were allowed water bottles cause of the heat so we got some ZIMAS and ditched the water and filled the Poland Spring bottles with ZIMAS. It was so fun!!

Geez Dani you guys really did a TON of sightseeing. I don't think that I've even been to all of those places and I live here!
I had a great time with you guys at the bar crawl. I was really happy that you got to meet some of our friends too. Those things tend to get a little rowdy, but I'm glad that we didn't scare you too bad.

We stayed at the Sofitel which was just a block and a half from the white house!! It was great and about 15 steps from a Metro Stop I got an awesome deal too... I went on travelocity and got a cheap price, then I called Sofitel and they matched it for me and gave me an additional 20% off. The room was clean and very high-end. They had a turn-down service nightly and gave us a bottle of Evian on our nightstand. The bathroom had the 'invisible' shower- SO nice- and they have fresh orchids in the bathroom!!!
I also recommend the Hyatt which was RIGHT near Sofitel. Also, Bobby Van's (restaurant across the street from Sofitel) was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, make sure you eat in Union Station-- downstairs- the food court is great for cheap, good food and upstairs has a couple of good restaurants too.
Definitely do a tour, to be able to see the most without KILLING yourselves... I recommend the Old Town Trolley! Yahoo it... Also, do the DC Ducks tour-- FUN!!

And by God was I tired-- Laura- we did more sightseeing than anyone should EVER do! We walked an average of six miles a DAY-- Vin figured it out... And Nina, THAT is prob why I look like I lost weight-- that and the Hoodia

thanks dani this is great info! I stayed at Sofitel in Philly recently and loved it. We will probably either stay there or the Hay Adams. I love Bobby Van's in NYC so we will definitely hit it up in DC!
