Ugh the thought is making me sick. I feel like this week went way way too fast! Doesn't help that I was stuck in the house for 3 days because of the snow.

First day was like ripping off a band-aid- painful at first, but then it was all good, lol :) Except we had a faculty meeting after school!

Youre right it wasnt as bad as I thought but they were definitely chatty and wanting to tell me everything they got for christmas!

Re: Back to work tomorrow...

I definitely agree with the band-aid analogy. My high schoolers were just silent today--none of the normal screaming and whining...no one wanted to be back. The silence was WONDERFUL!!! Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Where do you all work?

Had a good day back. The kids were very quite today. I don't think they were ready to come back either. I did forget that we had a faculty meeting after work, until about lunch time and that killed my day! lol We have our meetings after school.

It killed me too! Ugh. I remembered yesterday which made me want to go back even less, haha. Who has a faculty meeting the FIRST day back?! It wasn't all that bad in the end though. My students were crazy quiet also....I hope its not the calm before the storm! LOL

I teach in Long Island City.......how about everyone else?

I have been all over!....I taught Pre-K for 3 years in Glen Cove. I started there because I actually used to work in media and was deciding to switch careers. After my first year teaching there, I knew it was what I wanted, so I went back for my masters. After I finished, I left the preschool and taught first grade in Jamaica at a Catholic school. (LOVED 1st grade!) but I was excessed at the end of the year due to cutbacks. I took a year long maternity leave in Bellmore last year and it was great- really wonderful district. I taught 4th grade special education in an inclusion classroom. However, the teacher came back from maternity and my principal was keeping me as a TA. Luckily, after sending out over 350 resumes this summer, I landed my job with the DOE the day before school started!! (A teacher resigned). FINALLY a perm position, lol. It's been a long road. I teach a 4th grade self contained class this year.

edited for spelling

wow! at least it has been relatively steady, but it's so nice to get a permanent position to call home :)
