Bad Wedding

Bad Wedding

I went to a wedding on Saturday... it was soo bad.
It started at 7:30 and we didn't get fed until 8:45. We were just sitting there starving to death for over an hour. Like, they could have at least put a bread basket on the tables. Then they finally opened up the food... a buffet!! There was no substantial food either. On my plate... string beans, pasta, and mashed potatoes. FH went back up to get more food because he was hungry and there was no more food.

It was like a nightmare

It was just at a local catering hall in my town, Rocco's Catering.
I think it had more to do with the couple than the hall though...

I know that place! In East Rockaway / Oceanside? Right off Atlantic Ave?

I went to a Sweet 16 there once and it was nice, but then again it was a Sweet 16....not a wedding.

the timing is why we opted for a friday night wedding...at our hall the timing for a saturday night would have had our ceremony at 7:30 so cocktail hour at 8:00-9 so dinner not till like 9:30 or 10...i figured ppl would be way too hungry at that point...friday night we were able to start everything earlier.

oh no! That could possibly be worse that my 'worst wedding ever' where we drove all the way to Boston for a Friday wedding (Taking off from work....), and were greeted with a cash bar (we even had to pay for SODA), cheese cubes cocktail hour, and family-style food!

OMG I would be totally embarrassed...

How do you host an event and not have enough food...smh

Re: Bad Wedding

eeek.... running out of food is like my worst fear when throwing a party!

My Ch doesn't start until 8:30 either, but there is a wine and cheese lounge guest's can enjoy before that, and with the amount of food JT supplies at the CH I doubt anyone will be hungry by dinner time!

OMG! Yours sounds much worse!!!!
Although I think that it is a little understandable when you go out of New York. We have such high hopes for our LI/NY weddings haha.

Yeah it's in East Rockaway. I have heard similar stories where it was nice for communions, etc. It would have been nice for the wedding if they fed us!! Haha I love my food..

LOL I have a wedding story like that too, my cousin got married in a barn. in another state..and thought it was a nice barn there was like no food. We were all dressed up and no one else really was, it was interesting and we left and ate dinner at the hotel..

I just wanted to chime in...you have nothing to worry about! Went to a wedding at JT last year-SO MUCH food! I was stuffed by the time the 8pm cocktail hour was over-but I made room for dinner cause that was delicious!
