If anyone is using or has used bag pipers at their wedding or ceremony what songs did they play? My father wants to get one but the only song I could think of is Amazing Grace.

Re: Bagpipers
I used a bagpiper but to be honest i have no idea what he played...I had asked before but i have since forgotten. I used Kevin Connelly (vender here). Everyone raved about it! It was a nice touch, i think

Re: Bagpipers
Unless you have specific songs I would say trust the bagpiper (assuming they have experience with weddings - whether at the church or reception). Most likely - a lot of the songs (reception) that are going to get the crowd up and into it are going to be songs you probably don't know. Otherwise many of the songs you'll request - people will not move from their chairs. I guess if you're talking at the church it's not as critical. If you get a good bagpiper the song selection won't be a problem. I went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade and there was a ton of pipers you could call from Long Island.

Re: Bagpipers
I wanted to do this. I thought it would be really nice but it was a little expensive.. plus I feel bad making him stand outside the church in February in a kilt!!!!
It is a nice upbeat tune, after that he played some basic traditional stuff while my guest filtered into the cocktail hour.
P.S. If you want his contact information please FM me

We used ours at the church not the reception. He played as people came in and left the church. I agree leave it up to the bag piper...but i think that Amazing Grace is a little too funeral like, i would pick something more lively. He was 125, which i think isn't expensive
