Bama can understand English

Bama can understand English

A few days ago I said to him, 'Bama, can you go in your crate?'. He looked at me, then ran downstairs and went right into his crate!
Usually when we want him to go in his crate, we stand right next to the crate, point at it, and say 'crate!' and he goes in. So I was pretty shocked when I discovered that he can understand me when I say the whole sentence, plus, I was on a whole different floor of the house then where the crate was.

I think he's associated 'crate' with Cheez Whiz - everytime he goes in the crate we give him Cheez Whiz which he lovvvvvves .

What a smart puppy! Golem can understand us too with certain words! He knows 'where's mommy/daddy too, also Paw, Sit, Down, Kisses, Stay, Ball, Chilly Bone, and (sometimes) Drop It. His most recent discovery is 'ICE CUBES?' Craig was getting something out of the freezer one day and one fell on the floor - before he had a chance to scoop it up, Golem found it and he's been in love with them ever since! Now whenever we want him to calm down, we go over to the freezer and say 'Golem, want an ice cube?' and he comes running over, little tail nub wagging, and sits by the freeezer waiting for the ice cube! Even if we just say it in conversation, he perks up and looks at us like 'Oh, do I get an ice cube now?' Dogs are so smart when it comes to knowing what their treats are!

Bama loves ice cubes too! It's so funny watching him chase them all over the kitchen floor.
And those little nubby tails - don't ya love them?
