Band Advice

Hey all -
Ok, so FH and I live in Albany NY and will be moving to Philly PA in May. We will be getting married on LI. We are having a hard time deciding how to go about choosing a band for the wedding. Most showcases are on the weekdays so we just cant get there...Any recommendations on what we could do or what bands we should consider?? I think to us the band is the most stressful party of our decisions. Im happy we have a good amount of time between now and our wedding...but we are trying to get as much planning as we can done now so that when we move we wont have to worry about this stuff!

We went to many many live showcases! That is the only way to decide. We listended to their demo first if they had one and then they sounded totally different when you go to hear them live. Everyone is going to say that their band was great. You really should go to showcases and listen to as many as possible. Some bands that other peeple raved about we thought were awful. You just have to go out there. It is so much fun

We loved them and so did all of our guests! I do not have one negative thing to say about them! They were also a decent price (for a band)

I would recommend Timepiece (my brothers girlfriend is the lead singer)

We're using Code Bleu, another Skyline band. It all depends on your style, and the type of reception you have in mind. A band like Paris (good singer, but a VERY electronic band...even uses a drum machine) is good for a clubby feel. If you're really into that kind of music, they'd be great. We're more a Motown/classic rock/pop kind of couple, so that influenced our choice.

Look around online....many bands have clips that you can download as a starting point.
