Band or DJ?

What is everyone having at their reception? Just curious before we go out and look.

We booked a dj. I think they are more fun. I get board at weddings when there is a band.

DJ's are less expensive, plus you know that the songs will not be messed up. I've heard so bands really kills good songs b/c of accents and such.

oh like that is the first time someone has spelled something wrong like that. It happens all the time! Drives me nutty!

We booked a dj because a good band was way too expensive!

I prefer bands and love hearing live music. We received so many compliments about our band. However, if you're looking to save $, you can definitely save a lot by choosing a DJ.

I prefer a band for a wedding although there are good wedding djs out there too

We were going to have a band, but it was way too much $$, especially since I figured out that I could get my flowers, dj, limos and dress for the cost of just the band we were considering! Don't forget, you have to feed the whole band, too. Our total for the band we wanted would have been 6000, so we went for a really good, classy DJ that my MOH (who LOVES bands) saw at a wedding and REALLY loved. (Then 'til Now).

I am doing a DJ, much to the dismay of both sets of parents.

I generally don't like bands...can't deal with a white guy singing an Usher song, you know?

FH and I went with a DJ and we are so happy with our decision!!! I love our DJ and are really looking forward to dancing the whole night!!!

Band..love live music. There's an energy with live music that I don't feel from a DJ.

we went with band but were seriously considering DJ for cost purposes - but i am so happy we decided to go with our band an dsave in other areas - i love love loved my band they were phenomenal!! there was so much energy, evryone was dancing, and they could do anything as good or even better than the original!!! Code Bleu from Skyline Orchestras was my band and they were just phenomenal!!!

JMO but i think it all comes down to personal preference, i don't like DJs neither does DH whereas alot of girls don't like bands. I say if you find soemone you really like go with it. I went to th ebridal expos and thats where i found my band, they usually have Djs and bands perform, i think its a good way to determine which style you prefer when you get to sample them side by side.
