Band or DJ? Help!!!

Band or DJ? Help!!!

Just about every wedding I've been to has had a band...not always my favorite...I know that's really supposed to be the way to go, but in my opinion, there's nothing like the real artist singing...are there any REALLY good, non too expensive bands out there that sound like the real thing? If not, I'm thinking about a DJ...help!

ALOT of people do a dj, if you ask people on here, either more have a dj or about half...do whatever you want and what you like. Dont do something just bc that is whats supposed to be done

Honestly I prefer DJ's myself. That's just me though. I would have went with a live band had I been able to afford it but we got our DJ at $800 and he's wonderful!

I've seen live bands and DJ's its a hard choice sometimes.

your best bet is to go see some showcases of both (or request some music) and see which one sounds better to you both. i think its more of a personal preference.

we are going with a dj because we think a lot of the songs that we want played wont sound good if done by a band (ie some hip hop, reggaton, etc)and we want the original song to come from the original artist etc...

Its a hard one....The band I booked has a dj which is optional, what is what we are thinking about. We both want an elegant wedding...and a band would do that for you...

Its really up to you...if you have a GOOD band, you wont know the difference

I originally wanted a DJ but my parents insisted on having a band and after hearing them I wanted a band also. Code Bleu is really good. They have showcases all the time. You should go to the showcases of a few bands and then to DJ's and see which you like better.

A co-worker of mine that got married about 25 years ago had Code Bleu, she said they were AWESOME!

i saw Code Bleu at a wedding last year, they were amazing! We couldn't afford one and are perfectly happy with our decision with a DJ. We love Greg C. at Montage Music.

We knew we wanted a band after we saw Soul Revival at a friends wedding a few years ago. They were great! I have been to a lot of weddings with both bands and DJ's and some have been good and some have not. I suggest calling and talking with the bands and Dj's and then trying to see a showcase.
Soul Revival website Good luck planning!!

I am going to go with a dj for my wedding. My friends and family all have very different taste so I want to be able to have some of everything. Plus we have some songs that we want to hear and I don't want to worry about the band knowing the songs.

I'm having a DJ and live percussionist. I'm also thinking of adding a sax player. To me it's the best of both worlds. Live music and original recordings.

We were going to do a DJ with percussion and sax but then after hearing bands at showcases, we are booking a band. I currently have two bands outbidding each other for my party. I am getting a pretty good deal, but we are torn between the two.

We like DJ's better. My brother is having a GREAT band-but it's still not the same as the original and it is costing them $7000, whereas our DJ is $1400 with lighting and everything!
