I was really stuck on a band but I'm on the fence now and debating if I want a DJ, I find myself back and forth. Any insight??
Bands are great...a bit expensive but can be worth it. However, been to so many weddings with bands and it was hit and miss with quality. You can book someone over a year in advance and the singer may not be with the band on the day of your wedding. That is a huge risk for FH and I. With a DJ, it wouldn't be as big a deal. So we opted for a DJ with a few live musicians in the package. We will have a vocalist for dinner and a steel drummer for CH. It was still half the cost of a band and we'll have a similar feel but we know the songs we want to hear will sound the way they are meant to sound.

re are having a dj with a live vocalist as well. Hopefully going to add on percussionist as well. The bands we saw were too expensive and either hit or miss,

which DJ did you use that had a vocalist? My parents all of a sudden are against a DJ, but if we find someone that does a little bit of live and a DJ then maybe it could work. Thanks

I was debating the same thing once I heard the price of most of the bands, but I want one soooo bad. Me and fh decided to do peat moss and the fertilizers and they actually come w/ a dj too. They are very reasonably priced in comparison to most bands

Have you gone to any showcases and seen any bands?
I originally wanted a DJ, but my mother (who is helping pay for the wedding) despised every DJ she had saw at every showcase and ever wedding she recently went to. After seeing a band play at the Watermill showcase, we both fell in love, and she offered to help pay for it. With her help, I was able to afford the band, so it definitely helped in my decision. We then went to see them play again at another showcase, and booked them.
