Been to a few showcases, anyone have any recommendations?

Well of course I'm going to go with the company I chose. Skyline Orchestras. They have 4 bands that they showcase. I chose Rhapsody, it was more of my style... you should check out their website. www.skylineorchestras.com. They are always having showcases! :o) Good luck!

Thanks. So far I've heard Body Heat and Times Square Orchestra. Both were pretty good, but it's hard to picture it all together and what they will really be like.

It was tough for me too to make this decision. Good entertainment is very important when planning a wedding. I actually went to TWO showcases for the band I chose before I actually went with them... I heard good things about Times Square Orchestra if that helps

I recommend Full House. www.fullhousemusic.com They were outstanding. People were coming up to us all night telling us how good they were, and they even ran out of business cards to give people who asked for them.

They have a sound clip section on the website so you can hear them.

Dotty is great to work with. Her voice is amazing. There are MP3s on the site to listen to. My first dance song, Grow Old With Me is also on the site. They recorded it for us.

There is a little secret in Connecticut named 'The Funkestra'. They are FABULOUS and will travel to LI with no extra expenses. They are also VERY reasonably priced. We're getting a 9 piece band for under 5000, with continuous live music and a cocktail duo.

The clips on the website really do not do them justice, you have to go see them to appreciate how great they sound. They usually play in CT, Stamford/New Haven area...about 45 minutes from the city. It's very worth the trip!

Current Affair is an amazing band. We had a bunch of requests for their info after our wedding. In fact one couple was willing to cancel the band they booked and lose the deposit if they could get current affair for their wedding.

I used Phoenix and absolutely LOVED them. Toni Ann was wonderful to work with.

My sister used True Blue 3 years ago (they are a Faze 4 band) and they were great too!


I saw Code Bleu at a showcase and thought they were great.

My brother booked Faze4 for his wedding (8/03) and him and his FI loved them. Said alot of people they knew used them.
I am using the Ken James Orchestra for mine. I got a lot of positive feedback form people who used them and saw them at weddings. The one thing I didn't want was a LOUD band, I hate when I go to a wedding and can't talk to anyone b/c the music is blaring in my ear. Everyone said they keep the noise level down to a comfortable level.
My wedding is this weekend so I will post how the band was when I get back!

I'm using the JK Band from JK Entertainment. We checked out a lot of bands before we decided on them. I highly recommend them. I told a few people about them already and they all booked them after meeting with them.

another vote for skyline orchestras (we're using code bleu, and have only heard positive things about them from poeple who have used them at their own weddings!).
i saw faze4 in a showcase and thought they were good, but definitely not better than code bleu, nonetheless $5000 better!

you have to check out Renegade (LI Paramount)
The original Faze Four was our second choice, but were weren't into the bongo lady.
