Re: bands
I am not doing it because there are a lot of songs I just want to hear by the original artist. I can't see myself out there dancing to a cover of billie jean by MJ, but some people like it! I say check out a few diff bands see how they sound and then decide what you want to do...

You're so lucky! I would love to book a band, but we can't fit it into the budget.

Yes we are actually going to see the band we know we are going to book tomorrow night! I like also hearing/dancing to original songs as well but you can bring and make your own cd and do it so it can be in between the bands songs.

Re: bands
When we used to have our Christmas party for work ( due to economy that was scratched this year) they always had a band and it never is the same as the real song plus way too expensive.

A band called x-session. My parents, FH and I have watched them play for a few years now and love them! Lets hope everything works out tonight.

Re: bands
FHs only request was that we have a band. in his opinion i had a dj at my sweet 16 & this is not a sweet 16. so i told him that if he wanted the band he has to do the looking & he has to contribute to the cost.
we have been to 3 weddings that had bands (one which probally costs more then my entire wedding will cost) & 1 wedding that had a dj. to me it doesn't really matter, but FH is very picky about music.

my fh was the exact same way....his only request for this entire wedding was he wanted a band....he doesn't like dj's because he feels like he is at a sweet16, exactly how your fh put it..
overall i think its a matter of personal taste.

by the time our wedding comes around we will be together for 10 years. we both only plan on getting married once so i think a band is a good thing to splurge on.
